Thank God, eh? Things are not as strained as they were, just worried cos his I-94 expires tomorrow ( we put in for an expedite ), he just can't up and quit that job with millions here out of work and me on the disabled list.

From what I have read it is up to the employer to verify his work status.

ETA: When my husband got his job, he was not even asked for proof of work eligibility. All he showed them was his SSN (with the "Work with DHS Authorization" stamped across it like a big red flag). He just filled out the I-9 and that was it.

Well, they don't give leaves there, they just can your butt. We were never asked for an employer or anything about his job when we phoned in the expedite, so I dunno.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Although I don't really know what the situation is, it does seem like it is stressing you quite a bit. I pray that everything gets better for you very soon.

Stevi

Stevi, I don't know what the situation is.

(and she contacted me again, gosh darnit)

This wh-h-h-ench contacted me outta the blue.

I have not had any contact with my crazy ex in several months and I don't know what lies he is spewing from that poisonous hot lava forked tongue of his, but whatever the case, it made her slap an "S" on her chest to contact me.

MZ. UNO tries to be nice, but this mixture of "rasta-trini"-choctaw-"french-quarters-creole"-"geechie"-sierra-leone decendant from the west side of chi-town gone take a trip and knock it off her azz...h-h-heffer

aaahh, okay. I'm done

Wow Uno........my pulse rate went up reading those last words you wrote describing your ex-inlaws. It never ceases to amaze me how/what some folks think. Some people have a lot of nerve.

That sounds nuts, she has to remain in Australia and can't go to Ghana because of divorcing your ex ?

Am I the only one crying after that speach... he is an amazing man....

No, you are not the only one. I couldn't sleep the night before and I cried that morning at work, cried in the car on the way to the election watch party, BAWLED when I saw him in the lead, went hysterical and cried when he was the projected winner (P heard me screaming and crying in her ear on the phone, lol), and then I cried while he was speaking. Shoot, after all of that crying I went straight home and passed out. I was EXHAUSTED!

This is an e-mail I sent to my friends:

Its not a dream. This is real.

I woke up this morning with a renewed sense of calm.

The entire world was watching like never before, wondering if the American people were smart enough to understand that we need change.

Yesterday the people spoke, and we picked a president that the whole world wanted. Watching the celebrations around the world you could tell that it was not only us who was going to be affected by this vote.

Up next for Obama is really bringing the change he says he is going to bring. He needs to prove not only to us, but to the world, that he means business. He needs to follow through for the millions of people who have put their faith in his message, their hopes in his hands.

As for McCain, his concession speech was great (except for the booing), but its sad that his speech made him look more presidential than he ever portrayed himself in the primaries. If that was the McCain I had seen, the one who spoke with so much emotion and conviction, I would have had a harder time voting.

In the end, we hope and pray that the best man won. We needed someone to ignite a fire that has not burned for the last eight years, to make us believe that we could do better, to deliver a message of hope that we could believe in.

We needed someone to come along and say: Yes we can.

That was absolutely beautiful! BARACK OBAMA IS OUR PRESIDENT!!! WE DID IT!

BTW, Hi people :D
