It really helps to let it all hang out sometimes and to get to know one another better by sharing what we are going through, past and present.

Stevi I am so sorry about the loss of your father so recently (F) and the years of coming into womanhood without your mother.

Just by reading, it sounds so totally in your favor having your now fiance in your life.

And may I suggest the book by Rick Warren : Your purpose driven life. It is a fantastic book if you seek God's purpose......maybe you have already

read it. :)

Thank you ladies....I had to take a break to watch the Night of Obama on television.

It does feel good to let things out. I am not a very talkative type, but I can write for days.

I did indeed start the Purpose Driven Life, but stopped at about Day 17. It is my goal to start over and complete it this time. Thanks for reminding me.

I know that we all have our trials and tribulations in life, and mine are certainly no better or worse than the next person's. I am still a work in progress, but I sure am grateful for the little things. You just never know what tomorrow might bring.

My daughter and I say "I love you" after each telephone call, each time we see each other and even when we text each other. I started doing that the day she was born ( I was just a teenager), because that's how both my parents raised my sisters and brother.

Right before my husband died, I had just taken an FMLA leave of absence and spent 6 whole weeks with him at home. The very week I returned to work was the week he died. I felt bad about that for a while, but then I realized the blessing of my having taken that leave of absence when I did.

We were able to ring in the new year together (2004). The next night, on January 2nd, he died. There was so much sadness during his last years, but I wouldn't trade those 28 years of being with him for anything. He saw me grow from child to woman, and I saw him grow from boy to man. That last night that I left for work (night shift) when my husband was lying in bed watching a football game, the last words we said to each other were "I love you" and I will cherish that forever.

I hope I did not depress anyone. I really am a happy camper now :)

Omoba, I will pray for you and your children. I didn't mean to discount what you are going through by ringing my own bell.

Thanks for the therapy session....Good night

Stevi, I think the lesson is soooooo important. Tomorrow isn't promised to us and I hope that I won't regret anything down the line. Even when my daughter has made me see red, I tell her I love her with all my heart. Cause who knows what will happen when she walks out the door, or I walk out the door. I lost my husband while I was 7 months pregnant. Now, mind you he's not physically dead. He died three times that month but he dies spiritually and emotionally and became a completely different person. I mourned his "death" for 3 years before I divorced him. It was the hardest thing I'd ever done, but it was necessary to do it and to do it in my time so that I wouldn't be sorry for anything. I think God tries to teach us and when we think the lesson is harsh, we have to remember that our Father is trying to take us to a better place and trust the journey for the One who has put us on it.

2 cans of mixed beans ( green, wax, kidney or red )

red onion

cherry tomatoes

curly cooked pasta

cheese cubed or shredded

Hendrickson or any other vinegar based dressing

fresh basil.

Throw together however you like and toss.

Not into cooking a lot this year, way too busy.

I just made this again last night and noticed that I had left out several ingredients

To the above add :

red onion

black olives

red, yellow, green peppers ( optional ), makes for great color variety in the salad.

feta cheese instead of cubed cheese goes well with it.

What a day ! My ordered windows are sitting somewhere in a truck , seized by the bank because the manufacturer for Lowes who sells them

declared bankruptcy.

Lowes is scrambling to find a new vendor all over the USA to replace them. The manufacturer had a good product and sales were up and they were

in business for almost 60 years :o

Of course I had to chose this time to decide I needed new windows <_<

I will wait for 2 weeks and let the court sift through that mess and see what happens.
