Hi Subbies!

I know I've been MIA for a minute. Sorry about that. Life gets in the way of living sometimes. I think I'm cruising into the holiday hectic, but I'm doing okay. Had some beautiful girls with me from Uganda and Kenya. They are with the african children's choir. Just a true blessing. I wish I could've kept them! They even got Uncle Abass to come close to tears. They have sad stories but are filled with the joy of the Lord. I miss my babies! I went from being the parent of an only child to having six girls under the age of 11. And I loved it! :o

Bassi is freezing his tookus off! Poor baby. I'll keep him warm! Still waiting for the EAD. Damn USCIS! They are sooooo slow! I hope ya'll are doing well!! Zee did you hear anything about AOD or EAD? Stevi, is your man home yet? O, how's it going with the new lawyer? Nagi, how are you feeling? P and LL, I hear they're trying to kill your man before he even becomes president! :reading: I won't be able to catch up for a while. Send me a note if there's something that should be on my prayer list that I've missed.

Luv ya'll! Hugs!

Z

PS Hi Charles, how are you and Nessa coming along with the bambino? (Can't believe I forgot our honorary subbie by way of Brazil!)

So good to see you....read you Z ! As for us we are ok and I am gathering waiver documents for the next 2 months.

Probably another 9-12 month wait from there.

My attorney said most clients are not able to articulate their case problems but that he puts me in the top 5 % of his clients

who understand their case well. He was impressed and I am equally impressed with his waiver knowledge and we agree on the same angle as we proceed.

That is a ray of hope for us !

I have a CD from the African's Children Choir, they are so wonderful , talented and cute ! I wish I could see them perform here.

Hi Zanaib!!

It's been a long time, woman.

It is good to hear that you are doing great. My case is in "suspense" right now, pending the London's Embassy's receipt of another set of police certificates.....long story that still makes no sense whatsoever. But we are staying positive, because they told him to send them in with his passport and he should then receive his visa. We are just doing what we are told to do, because we don't have any other choice. Prayer is what we rely on.

Take care, and I hope you are soon posting more again soon. I've been forced to come out of lurking mode in the past few months, and seems like all I do now is post on VJ. But this has been the best medicine in the world for me during this tough time. I have so much love for my VJ family.

Until Later,

Stevi

So here is a question for you all - got any good recipes? I love trying new things - especially from other cultures. Anyone have any to share or can point me in the right direction? Only stipulation is no pork. Thanks :star:

Morning all.

Talked with SO for 1/2 hour last night :) . He is in Thies awaiting my arrival on Friday. He is staying with a very sweet older woman friend of his and she took him to the market to get some things for me. She found him purple material YA!!! I had been wanting purple in my wedding dress and he'd been unable to find. Anyways, she helped him all day yesterday and is going out again with him today, after seeing pictures of me she is sure she knows my size and they are getting clothes for me. So my question - what do I bring her??? She has been so wonderful to take him around I just don't know what to bring. I am a tomboy to the core so I don't connect with women very well at all. My SO said makeup, but I don't know colors or anything like that, I'm just not a girly girl. Evidentially she thought my gift list of flashlights, leather gloves, candles & candies/gum was funny because SO said she laughed :( I thought I did good with that list.

Please help.

dont know her age, but what I sent to my MIL was a personalized kit of complementary lotions/shea butter, body creams, foot creams/scrubs, deodorant, powders, and body spray. I purchased a clear medium size travel bag to place them in and she loved it. all can be found at the dollar store, dollar general or family dollar.

hope this helps.

A watch or nice top.

Thanks ladies. A GREAT idea struck me. My neighbor makes BEAUTIFUL scarves and ony uses natural colorings (no chemicals). She made me one for my trip to Paris. She told me she would sell them to me at wholesale so am going to get 4 of them. I think all my gift buying is done  Most my packing is done, I am pretty much ready. Now if the airplane anxiety dreams would just stop I'd be great!
