Today I received a ASC Appointment Notice to capture your biometrics.

It is the 2nd one we have received the first was March 08, 2008 and was for our

I485 and 1765 applications with both applications numbers on it. It has been

Stamped with the date and signed by an employee.

The new one is only for the 1485 with only the I485 applications number on it.

My question is why would we need to do the biometrics 2 times?:angry::angry:

Has anyone else ran into this before?

Thanks

Pat

I think I read on here that biometrics expire in 6 months. If they haven't approved your petition, they may ask you repeat them. If you did them March, then they would expire in Sept, if that's true. I think that may be it, but I'm not 100% sure.

The other possibility is that they lost your biometrics. That seems like the more logical explanation.

Once the FBI receives your fingerprint, they can reject it. It might have been that they weren't clear enough for them. They inform USCIS in that case and USCIS mails you to go through them again.

Hello Pat,

I did my biometrics twice, too. One on July 23, a week after that I got a letter stating FBI could not find my finger card. I went again on August 21. I asked the officer what went wrong, why it was lost. She said it happens, the FBI could not read the finger scan. I told her we drove 3 hours one way just to get to the ASC, and requested her to make sure its done properly. See to it during the scan, it says "Good" and not "Poor". She said its on the genes that some have more cracks/lines, or the finger is too dry, making it hard for the FBI to read it. Anyway, she said they will only do it twice, in case they can't read again, I will be asked to go to the nearest police station, have my finger print done and mail it to them. Well, its been more than 3 weeks since my 2nd bio, so I guess they did it right this time.

Goodluck and God Bless!
