Hello all. Had our AOS interview today in Albuquerque NM. Took about 15 minutes for the whole thing to be done. She did not ask to see any wedding pictures or anything like that. Asked when we were married, the usual questions of whether or not I had been in prison and such. She asked when and how we met, about our previous divorce timelines. She asked my daughter what she thought of school here and if she liked living here. We showed our joint bank account info, health insurance, tv dish bill, car insurance. Because we have been married such a short time we have not had much time to accumulate much which she understood. She told us to be sure to send in piles of proof when it is time to lift conditions to avoid an interview at that point. We only walked out with a piece of paper with hers and our signatures on it saying I have been approved but we are to expect the cards in the mail within a couple weeks. Thanks to all for the helpful advice along the way and best of luck to those of you still trudging through this fun process.

Does anyone know if the time of entry into the Unites states is when they start the clock on how long I have been in the states before applying for citizenship or is it from today? or is it not until the conditions have been lifting that they start my timer? No big hurry, just curious.

Congratulations, and the clock starts ticking from the date on your green card, when you get it—where it will say "resident since [date]." 3 years from that date is when you're eligible for natz. :)

Latest news: Green card received 16 April 2007. USCIS-free until 3 January 2009! Eligible to naturalize 3 April 2010.

03/20/06- EAD received in mail

03/22/06- Applied for Social Security Number

03/27/06- Received Social Security Card

03/27/06- Received interview date for AOS

04/06/06- Started first job in America

04/29/06- Passed the test at the DMV, now have a state permit to drive

05/03/06- Initial Interview for AOS

05/03/06- AOS approved! I-551 stamped in passport!!

June 1, 2007: GC arrived! Yippy! USCIS Free for 2 years!
2008: Moved to China
2009: Conditional GC Expired and Husband has been having affairs since 2008 in China. Can't file for ROC since he got laid off. He came to Jakarta to live with me and my parents. He got a new job. Life resume to normal or so I thought.
March 2010: Officially separated after yet more affairs exposed just a day after my birthday!

February 2011: Officially divorced.
June 18, 2011: He married the girl he had the last affair with.

August 2014: I am engaged with my real soulmate. Not an American.
