My theory? You're a competitive person and you concentrated harder once you saw others' scores. The first time you thought you were doing well, so you weren't concentrating as hard.

OR there's some physiological explanation that I couldn't begin to talk about...

I'm competitive, so I'm gonna try again. Now I have to beat a 4!

Just from what I recall back in a color theory class I took, there are cones in your eyes the fire off signals to your brain. They can become fatigued or respond differently depending on factors such as the overall illumination of your environment.

I'll see if I can find some online eye tricks such as your brain seeing color that isn't there.

Also, I can't remember, but there's a higher number of men who are born color blind than women, and overall, women can see more colors than men. Interesting stuff. :)

I think it is easier the second time though, simply because you know to double check each square. The first time I just did an, ok, that looks near enough, it'll do - and I was wondering if my boss was around :lol:.
