First of all, I want to deeply thank everyone for your thoughtful replies to my questions.

A new thought occurred to my fiance and me: We were reading that the officials who approve visas can turn down the visa appication for various reasons. One of them is meeting for the first time (for example, I plan to travel to my fiance's country in United Arab Emirates). But we read that they could turn down our application if we meet for the first time then get married right away. (I am not able to stay there long, only between 2 and 3 weeks. So, if we love each other in real life as much as we do now, we plan to marry within a few days of meeting.) We have had a relationship on the internet and phone for 5 years, but we have never met. We are concerned if a K-3 visa would be acceptable in this case, or, is it better to try for the K-1 visa and go through the fiance process as opposed to the spousal process. We don't want to be turned down. Many thanks.

If you have enough supporting evidence, I don't think they will turn you down. :star:

Not to be a sore spot you can be turned down with either visa. If you have enough evidence to show that your relationship is real then it doesn't matter which one you apply for.

I wish you the best in which ever you choose.
