To get a social security card you had to fill out an application form. Are you saying that you filled that form out with the wrong name as well? How 'wrong' is the name? Is it just a spelling error, or did your fiancee have a total brain freeze?

I agree with the suggestion to contact mdyoung. He is our resident expert on all things social security.

Regarding getting a marriage license, it will depend on whether you need to show the card to get the license. I know that in my case this wasn't necessary. Other things that could be affected are, for example, your AOS and EAD. If the USCIS also has somehow messed up your fiancee's name, then you definitely need to get it sorted out quickly. You don't want to end up with a green card with the wrong name, because that just adds to your cost to get it corrected!!
