philippine grocery store, WHERE? ? ?

Mabuhay,

My wife needs to cook me some Filipino food NOW! I need to smell, taste and enjoy her favorite foods.

We are in Birmingham, Alabama. REALLY, there are a few Filipina-American couples here, very few. We have searched the online yellow pages within a 250 mile distance, no results. Even emailed the Greater Atlanta Association of Filipino-Americans, no reply!

We got an extra large ice chest for the car and are ready to travel. Where? Got any store names or addresses or phone numbers.

The Am-Pnoy store here is very, very, small and the item are very limited. We need Filipino Food. :crying:

If you can't see the Filipino store, check some Chinese , Viatnamese or any asian store like Hongkong Market Im sure they have Pinoy stuff..Check the Del Monte or Mama Sitas online too.

11-23-07- Medical though the exact date was Nov. 29..

12-16-07- Visa in hand

01-16-98- Attended CFO

01-18-08- Arrived in USA , POE-Guam

03-16-08- Wedding

AOS

04-17-08- Submitted the AOS

04-24-08- NOA

05-13-08- Biometrics

05-27-08- Transferred to California

06-14-08- EAD card received

07-21-08- Date of AOS approval but got the letter July 24

No Interview, No RFE and Additional Vaccination( just used the SLEC medical docs)

07-22-08- Date of Permanent REsident CARd , got it July 29

07-31-08- apply for SSN

08-05-08-SSN delivery

01-12-09- First day of work(Thanks to Marielle and Mario)

Thanks but they only list two there and one is not even close to Alabama, in Arizona. The other we have visited and they have very little Filipino food.

WE did located a Pinoy yellow pages on line that lists several in Atlanta, about 150 miles from www.pinoyonboard.com

Do you have an international store in your area? We have Global Foods and Jays International in St. Louis. That's where I find all our Jamaican foods. They have aisle after aisle of flags hanging from ceilings indicating the country(ies) represented in each aisle. Check for something like that.

Atlanta has Farmer's International Market.. We usually go there to pick up some filipino items.

We live in western Kentucky and we go to Nashville to the InterAsian Market & Deli. They have a pretty good selection so it may be worth the drive.

Hi, I'm in Alabama too, there's asian stores somewhere in Homewood they have great selection of filipino items, there's one in Gadsden i think its the Rainbow International Market & the owner is a filipino, but if u want the big asian store its gonna be in Buford Highway, Georgia, its really a huge place to look for some filipino & asian items.

Hi,

The Filipino store has moved from the original location in Atlanta. It was off Tilly Mill Rd. but now is off Holcomb Bridge Rd. It is called 'Manila Mart', and the number is: 770 451 4585.

The store is about 500 sq. feet, very clean and the owners are nice and pleasant to deal with. I think they will even ship some orders.
