Who would build a house, let alone buy one on a pancake flat strip of land in front of the sea in an area of high risk of flooding...

I have no time here, but there will be some people [again] who won't follow the mandatory evacs, and despite emphatic warnings will try and ride it out will be stuck waiting to get rescued by some other people risking their own lives to save their idiot non-evac butts. Evac provisions were made well in advance by the State.

Well there was a guy who lived on the slope of Mount St. Helens who refused to move when he was told about the impending eruption.

I'm just praying for those who ignore the warnings and those who are devestated along the way.

Well, me too, I suppose.....BUT.....They CHOSE to ignore and yet someone else will be FORCED to risk THEIR life saving those that CHOSE to not go. That chaps my ### something rotton.....Anyway-GTG! Have a nice day and for goodness sake if you are in the impact area-PLEASE follow mandatory instructions!

Well, I think that makes him somewhat of an idiot, no?

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

There's always people like that though - "I've lived her X years, I'm not goin' anywhere..."

I don't know how old the film was but on weather channel there were still cars driving in Galveston and already the road by the water was being flooded. I hope those people were leaving. But I bet some are stupid news anchors wanting in on the action.
