Before I bombard VJ'ers with lots of questions, PLEASE let me FIRST tell you ... it has been an absolute pleasure accidently finding this website!

We joined just a few days ago & so far I have burned dinner & missed a few dog trips getting the dog out for a bathroom run because I have on the edge of my seat in suspense, holding my gut with laughter and reading through blurred teary eyes at SOO MANY couples journeys of love, marriage and children! Thank you all for opening a window for us in your lifes!

SECOND: Naturally like any "newbie" (i would actually prefer the term "rookie" - makes me sound hot!) I have questions:

1. What does it mean to be "touched" when petitioners refer to their petitions & how would I track this touching?

2. Has anyone had any experiences - positive, negative, on hold - with filing K3 for Tunisia in 2008?

My husband & I are still pulling together our profile but we invite anyone at anytime to share experiences, knowledge, wisdom, guidance, resources or just connect - we love to talk so you will get a reply!

I am so excited .. you all give me butterflies!

gratefully urs - prince+angel

WELCOME!

I remember when I found this site! I was soooo excited, I sent the link to my husband right away. hee

The "touching" refers to the "updated" date on your online portfolio on the uscis website. If you already have received your notice of action from uscis for your petition, go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

an then follow the instructions to add your case number. Then you can obsessively(lol) check the website and see if that "last updated" date changes. When it changes, that means someone at uscis has done SOMETHING (no telling really) with your petition/s.

Everytime a worker does something with your case they scan it and it updates on the system (this is my understanding anyway)

Our case was touched 3 months ago and still nothing... :(

Good Luck and enjoy this site, its very helpful and you will find some caring members that have been where you are now and are willing to share their experiences.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
