[How can you justify that speculation? There's nothing whatsoever to substantiate that...

So on top of being the major occupying in post-war Germany and Japan, the US would then have to pony up money and manpower for the occupation of Russian (i.e. a significantly larger country).

How well do you think Russia would have done without the US being in Europe?

That isn't the point - I'm not doubting the the US *could* have won, but given that the entire post-war landscape to the modern day would be entirely different (and not being able to jump into different dimensions), drawing wild conclusions about something so entirely hypothetical is just ridiculous.

Well, it would have prevented a few countries from communism. Remember, the countries that Russia "liberated" came to be under their control for the next half century. Remember, these countries were free before the war.

It could very well also have had other, unintended consequences...

NATO probably would be bigger and stronger today. Maybe no Cold War. We were more loved in the world then than we are today. But as you say, it is all pure speculation.

You can see Russia from Alaska!!! :o

That woman is a complete and utter DOLT!

Uh, yes you can.....research, research, research before you comment :bonk: ........ :innocent:

I'm referring to her bomb of an interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson.

The fact that she claims she has foreign policy credentials based on the fact that she can see Russia from Alaska.

I can see the moon from my backyard....it doesn't make me an astronaut.

She is a moron.

Well given that the alternative was Hitler, that isn't terribly surprising.

The countries that were left under Russian control were'nt much better off than they were with Hitler.

They weren't - but you were saying that the US was more loved in the world back then.

And your not running for VP.

Exactly, I'm not qualified and neither is she.

The difference is, she thinks she is.

And Obama isn't qualified to be President, only problem is he doesn't know it.

I just think that the world would hae been behind us then if Russia was forced back to their own territory. We wouldn't be looked at as the aggressor, we would be seen as liberators.
