Esp. given that the War on Terror and unilateralism has been a (blatant) cornerstone of the current administration's approach to foreign policy.

There are a few other nations slugging it out in Afghanistan along with the U.S. so the unilateralist angle isn't entirely correct and all those pesky UN resolutions prior to the Iraq War- how soon we forget.

Well it isn't "entirely" correct sure - how much detail can you get into in a single sentence?

The point was that you don't need really to understand specific terminology to get at least a rough handle on the foreign policy direction this country has taken over the last 7-8 years.

As a VP candidate, this stuff really should be second nature.

Diplomacy you mean?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Her response did seem a bit light-weight - clearly foreign policy is a foreign concept. And we already have one president who appears on TV and miserably fails to demonstrate that he has a handle on the in's and outs of international politics.

The last thing we need is another "all hat and no cattle" personality.

We?

Says you.....just another shmuck on the internet.....

I don't think its just me...

But then I forgot - never mind GWB's in-the-toilet job approval ratings, its only "the people that matter" who still rate him.

Do you need a dynamite vest to go with that fanaticism?

General Patton was right at the end of WWII, he said that we should kick Russia's a$$ so far back into Russia that they would never come out again.

Unfortunately that would have probably extended the war another 10 or 20 years.

From someone more clever than I, I bring you this set of truisms.......At least Palin, running as second banana clearly is more experienced than the top banana on the dems ticket.......

----- You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as Director of Nursing after 143 days experience as an RN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT....

'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World ... 143 days. In this time he's come to the conclusion, based on his lengthy empirical experience/observations, that "Washington is broken", and that he has the strategies to fix it!

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol !!!!!

AMEN TO THAT!

In 1945 we had our armies in Germany waiting to let the Russians liberate Berlin. It went up Patton's butt. We were letting the Russian's finish the job. We would have rolled over Riussia like #### thru a goose.

Of course. Since GWB speaks 'for some of them' then its perfectly OK to think they're the only ones that matter.

Let's be fair. She said if Georgia was a member of NATO and Russia invaded Georgia, then perhaps we'd have to go to war with Russia.

That is, after all, what the treaty requires.

If we don't want to go to war with Russia, perhaps we should not let Georgia into NATO.

Can't we all just get along :crying:

No. That's not fun.

GWB's approvals are higher than the "do nothing democrats" in congress.....Go figger!
