Yeah, I saw that - almost started this thread. Just thought it was funny, the Governor of Alaska talking about war with Russia (:

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

I didn't read it like she loves war, I just think she really has no clue what the issues are. These regions are fraught with complication and it's not simply a question of supporting the 'little guy' against the big guy' which is the level her answer appeared to be at.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Let's be fair. She said if Georgia was a member of NATO and Russia invaded Georgia, then perhaps we'd have to go to war with Russia.

That is, after all, what the treaty requires.

If we don't want to go to war with Russia, perhaps we should not let Georgia into NATO.

Ditto. Here's the first paragraph of the article:

FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin left open the option Thursday of waging war with Russia if it were to invade neighboring Georgia and the former Soviet republic were a NATO ally. "We will not repeat a Cold War," Palin said in her first television interview since becoming Republican John McCain's vice presidential running mate two weeks ago.

Come on folks. I don't like her and would never vote for her; but that does not mean I will go around misconstruing everything she says. Quite low, really.

Well, the U.S. doesn't follow the Geneva convention very closely either as it's supposed to and obliged to by law.

But I do agree that Georgia should not be in NATO. Not for the sake of not going to war with Russia, but because they are way too hostile to already independent territories, and in that sense, war provoking.

Getting really tired of the warmongering attitude, as if we need to be under threat of war here, war there, war with everyone in the world if need be, war with Russia, war with China, war with Iran, war with North Korea, war with Cuba, not to mention the already two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. So GOVERNOR Palin (of a very small populated state) leaves open the possibility of war with Russia. Yes, of course because if they were part of NATO they'd need to be defended, but the idiot really needs to tell us what everyone else knows? Nah, it's just more rhetoric that is meant to piss off Russia.

But why would anyone take the time to read what she actually said. Isn't it much better to call her a war monger? And twist everything totally out of context? THAT"S the American way.

Quite true, it's nice to see someone who sees the whole picture.

Me hate America? Now you're insulting me.

See text in bold. Sounds to me like you have a problem with the American way. So, again, I ask you - why do you hate America so much?
