Age gap

Our case was completed in August and now we are waiting for the interview date.

My only worry is our large age gap. Wondering whether there are people out there with large age gap who survived the interview. Nevertheless our relationship is genuine and we are together because we love each other.

Any thoughts on this?

Plenty of folks here have been totally sucessful and had large age-gaps.

I don't know from experience, but there have been threads on this site and I have seen many people with age differences who have been successful in obtaining the visa.

Significant age gaps can increase the scrutiny of relationship bona fides. Otherwise, no problem.

The genuity of the relationship and make sure your partner won't be a public problem when she/he gets here in US as what as the Affidavit of support stated..AGe gap is not a big problem ..Dont worry!!

2. Greeting cards we sent each other

3. Email, chat and Skype record

4. Tax return showing that I am his spouse

5. Beneficiary nomination for his insurance policy

6. Co-owner of the car

7. US Military Dependent Card

8. Joint bank account holder

Is this sufficient?

It is possible during interview they might pick on this point. Have an answer ready.

Age gap has been thrashed over MANY times. Bottomline is large age gaps are looked at more closely. Especially in countries with high fraud. Main thing is to show you have a LOVING bona fide relationship. Doesn't specify anywhere you have to be in love but it sure seems like the COs are looking for such!

I think you will be fine, you have more than enough, relax. :-)

US consulate in KL really isn't a consulate that's notorious for asking all sort of evidences or tricky questions.

The interviewer actually casually asked me "Do you have any evidences you can show me?" towards the end of the interview. I only showed him 3 out of 8 documents that you have. I also didn't print out the phone and chat records.

Skype records? How did you get that? Did you keep manual records or is there some sort of report you were able to run or they ran for you?

Thanks for the post. My husband unable to take off from work as he just changed his job, so I hope that won't be a problem.

We have talked about this and basically know what to answer if the age is being brought up.
