Hi everyone, we finally got our 3rd packet. I just have a few questions; if you guys could help me out I'd appreciate it.

1. Police and medical: when do we get these? Do we send them in with the 3rd packet or do we get them just to have them during the interview?

2. police: we live in London, Ontario. Does anyone know where we'd get this? Is it a regional thing or RCMP thing? My hubby's record is spotless, so does that make a difference where we get it?

3. Medical: anyone know where to get it done in London? What if my husband already has all the vaccines listed on the sheet? Is there anything else he needs done?

4. I'm a little confused here - I just read that packet 3 comes from Montreal, but I see that ours is from the NVC. Is the one we just got (with the DS230, etc) not the packet 3? Are we going to receive another packet from Montreal?? Argh!

Thanks!

Don't reply if you don't have ALL my answers.

I'm so happy you're with Mark now! Yay! How are you enjoying the US and Michigan? We're only like 2 hours away from each other now, isn't that weird?? Have you gone to Detroit and been mugged yet? You haven't truly gotten the Michigan experience until you've been robbed in Detroit. ;) j/k!

We're about to send in our DS230 too!

Hey now... We Detroiters have to burst your bubble and tell you that unless you like to hang out in bad neighborhoods, it's a pretty low chance that you get either murdered or mugged.

Hi everyone, we finally got our 3rd packet. I just have a few questions; if you guys could help me out I'd appreciate it.

1. Police and medical: when do we get these? Do we send them in with the 3rd packet or do we get them just to have them during the interview?

Get them now, to ensure you have them in time for the interview.

2. police: we live in London, Ontario. Does anyone know where we'd get this? Is it a regional thing or RCMP thing? My hubby's record is spotless, so does that make a difference where we get it?

You HAVE to get the police certificate from the RCMP, in some cities you can also get it from a Commissionaire's office. Go to your local office and request a Canada-wide records check (no fingerprints). He'll need to have some photo ID and his birth certificate. He may also have to pay a fee (some precincts charge, others don't).

3. Medical: anyone know where to get it done in London? What if my husband already has all the vaccines listed on the sheet? Is there anything else he needs done?

was there not a sheet sent with the packet outlining all you need to know about the medical, and who you can go see to get it done? if not, I would check the Montreal consulate info here on VJ, I am almost positive that there is a list of applicable doctors, if not here, then definitely on the previous VJ forums.

I'm a little confused here - I just read that packet 3 comes from Montreal, but I see that ours is from the NVC. Is the one we just got (with the DS230, etc) not the packet 3? Are we going to receive another packet from Montreal?? Argh!

If I remember correctly (and please, someone correct me if I am wrong), NVC sends the package 3 to K-3s/ cr/Ir-1s, and also schedules the visa interview. What you have is packet 3.

Thanks Cassie! I have the address where we need to get his police certificate and I also have the name of a doctor here in town for hubby to get his medical. I'm breathing a little easier now. And praying it doesn't take FIVE MONTHS to get an interview!

I might just skip the mugging & go straight to being murdered!!

Excellent choice! :D

Hi,

Re Police Certificate - I lived in Aurora (a suburb of Toronto) and went to the regional Police station. Your husband can check in the website of his local police (London,Ontario) and they should have information there. When the local police give a certificate in Aurora they generally do a canada wide check which is connected with the RCMP. It is standard proceadure. It took 10 mins and 40.00 CND to get it and I could get additional copies for no charge.

Re Medical - I also got my DS230 for Cr1 - It does not contain any doctors list and I believe once you get your appointment letter for the interview you will get a list of doctors for your checkup. If he has all the vaccines done then he need to show proof like a record of it. If he has it then it is fine.

You do not have to send the medical with the packet to NVC. But the Police certificate I believe you have to if you are going for Cr1. I had to send it.

Just to confirm this is for CR1 Visa NVC sends the packet and collects the documents (except medical) and then schedules an appointment for an interview with Montreal. For K3 - After NVC conpletes the case it sends it over to the Embassy and Montreal sends the packet 3 which we need to collect documents and present it during the interview.

Hope this is clear.
