I'm glad everyone is okay. If you haven't already, let the library know their card was stolen so they can block it. Some libraries lend DVDs and music CDs -- might mean a few quick bucks for the thief.

I havent called the library yet. But thank you so much for reminding me. I was thinking the thief wont care for the library card :(

Let's talk about bad experience - Last week, Hubby's co-worker, a petite girl, was mugged by 3 WOMEN!!! They kicked and punched her and took her money away.

Well, last night I have my own bad experience. Hubby and stopped by to pick up a friend in her house on our way to the prayer meeting in church. He left the car running as we were in a hurry and we expect to be back in the car in less than 2 minutes. We knocked on our friend's house while keeping an eye on our car, group of rowdy guys (friends of friends of friends of Chelsea) got out of the door and said Chelsea will be out in a second. I got inside the door to shout to Chelsea to hurry, we then return to the car and one of the rowdy guys got of the car and hubby shouted HEY HEY HEY! And he jumped out of the car. I looked inside the car and my brown Marikina purse is missing!!!!! I shout to the rowdy group of men "Hey give me back my purse!" And hubby asked me if i am positive that i left my purse in the car. I felt so stupid, i don't leave my purse in the car but i don't know why left it that time. At first i was not sure if i brought my purse with me and then i realized that i just checked our mailbox and i put the keys in the purse and the mails were still in my hand! One of the guys said they saw a girl passed by the car, etc, etc, but my mind went blank and I began to tremble. Either one of the guys got it or if the girl story is true or not, Only God knows who took my purse. I cried in the car and hubby was so sorry for being too trusting leaving his engine car on even for a few seconds. Chelsea said that her neighborhood is really bad that she dont even check her mailbox alone. and she has to run back to the house each time she take out her garbage!!!

My only consolation is there's no passport, credit card or anything super valuable inside the purse except the purse itself and some of my girl stuff and KEYS! I was imagining things like what if they know where we live and they got the key to our house and even the mail and my library card too!

I was scared and angry and nervous but at the same time thankful that our car was still there, no body got hurt and my important papers were not stolen. This experience stand as a reminder to NEVER,EVER LEAVE ANY PURSE in the car as it is a perfect bait for the thieves - and always LOCK THE CAR!

As for the keys..if that is the key in your house.. you may want to change the lock in your front and back door of your house, since somebody has your keys.. This will give you peace of mind knowing that nobody own your key..

I am saying this, what if one day, they saw you and remember you guys, and they followed you to your house.. that will be scary dont you think? Go ahead and tell your husband to change the front and back door lock, this way you two have peace of mind.. You may spend some bucks, but hey, we are talking about safety here..

It sounds like your friend Chelsea may know the guys and might find out later who stole the purse.. anyway, you should also never leave any valuables in a car that is unlocked or locked. coz for sure they will break the window to get the things inside. a good rule is to never leave anything in the car of value !!! I am sorry you had such a bad experience
