DOS tells me to wait two more months for interview??

Hi everyone, please help me here, I am in shock!!

I sent packet 3 to London about 3 weeks ago, and have called the DOS twice since. Today, the lady said that my packet had been opened and "enrolled" yesterday. She said that she "believes they have already scheduled this month's applications for interviews next month, so I will have to wait until they start scheduling in October, for an Interview in November"....!!!

Every UK timeline I have looked at, people have been scheduled interviews within about 5-6 weeks of sending back packet 3. Why has this not happened to them? Do you think she has given me wrong information? Do they really only schedule interviews once a month, and the others have to wait?

I really hope I dont have to wait that long

I called and spoke to someone else... all she said was that they opened it on the 10th. I asked when she thought the interview would be scheduled, and she said to wait for packet 4. Which is, of course, what I expected her to say, but she didnt repeat what the first lady said.

If you're calling the DOS Visa Department, welcome to their wonderful world of not being able to find either butt-cheek with both hands. In my experience, the only way to learn anything, or to get action, was to phone my consulate. The bright spot is that at least most of the DOS employees are friendly.

Unfortunately, not much of an option for London. It costs GBP1.20/min to call, you can only call from the UK and they tend to know even less than their DOS counterparts. They're mostly good for getting the super-secret weekly code that allows you to email the embassy.
