Hi there!

I am going down to Jamaica on Monday, and on this trip my fiance and I are going to see about getting his police reports. In the last ten years he has lived outside of Falmouth (Trelawny) and Salt Springs (st James).

So where do we go to get the police reports?

Thanks!

Hi Acrow...Falmouth is not far from where we live. As JG and other said, you have to go to Kingston. No way around that.

Thanks. We will plan to take a trip down there.

Another quick question: It has ben a month now since the NVC has sent our case down to Kingston, but the embassy is still reporting that it has not yet received it. Should I be alarmed that the case has been lost in the mail?

Nope. The embassy is notorious for this.

Just hang in there.

You have to pay for the police report fee at the North Tower on Oxford Road then you have to take it down town to Duke Street to do the fingerprints for the actual report.

$1000 for 1 month processing

$2000 for 3 day processing

Re: your file getting to the embassy. Have you tried tracking it with DHL?

Sounds about right, Acrow.

You need to pay for the quickest service because sometimes even that takes longer then anticipated.

No worries about it getting lost in the mail as it is sent to the embassy by DHL which is like UPS or Fedex. It takes some time for them to have it entered into their system. It also depends on which section of the embassy you contacted because one handles non-immigrant visas and one handles immigrant visas.

Hopefully you will hear something soon

what is DOS? I emailed the NVC and asked them to resend the case to the embassy, but they brushed me off and said to direct any questions now to the embassy...
