I have just had my MTR refused by the Cal Service Center. My original I751 application was denied because we did not reply within the six week time frame, the letter went missing....

We were told to refile the I751 again, but i believe that the case may be sent to Washington for apeal ?

Does anyone know the process now ?

I am not certain on how the process of appeal goes but it seems to me that it might be safer and faster if you reapply. The reason for that is that it takes around 4-6 months to process the cases at CSV and appeal might take much longer. If I was you I would hire a lawyer, I think it's time for that.

I've read about horror stories with appeals.. like cases pending for over a year. I would suggest reapplying and then after you get the new case number call the call center and ask for an expedite (I would argue that the lost letter = error on their behalf). I am familiar with the K1 process (not yours) but I assume the procedure for getting an expedite is the same.

I would try the call center first. Explain the situation & see if an expedite is possible. Based on what you've said you probably do not need a lawyer.
