Hi, we are jen and torsten... he's in Nurnberg, Germany, and I am in chicago...

I was sent to germany for an 18 month assignment for work. I met Tor when I brought my bike into his shop to have him tune it. He invited me to ride with his friends each sunday... and of course I was ecstatic to be with people other than my work collegues! A few months later, Tor and I were riding alone more and more. I thought he was good-looking, and was attracted to his leadership (whether he knows it or not). Plus he's funny, in that you-arent-taking-me-seriously-are-you-classic-german way, where he's pulling your leg with a completely straight face.

But he is 10 years younger than me, so he got put into Friend Zone.

Then he convinced me to go to Oktoberfest with him in Munich. And I realized on the train that we were on a date!

The rest was history... we have been together ever since. We couldn't see any reason why we should let our relationship come to a close when I left... we are so compatible i didn't think it was possible for me to meet someone who was patient enough to put up with me. I certainly never thought I would get married!

It takes a very special man to marry the difficult and bossy women in my family...and I have come to realize that Tor is made of the right stuff: patience, a huge sense of humor, and the agility to know when to allow me to boss and when to stand his ground.... he has a huge heart and loyalty for his family....and did I mention he is gorgeous?

It just sucks for all of us that we are separated from our SO, even for a week. The website is nice for support on nights like this when I am missing him so very much and I want time to wrinkle into christmas....

Good luck to everyone on this bumpy muddy road through the immigration process!
