So we are finally ready to send our papers to NVC. Took some time with the joint sponsor, arranging papers in order when you rely on someone else is kind of cumbersome.

Anyways the work letter and joint sponsor's pay stubs are around 2 months old, will that work or we have to get new ones? I kind of dont' want to disturb the already frustrated joint sponsor.

My hubby will submit recent pay stubs and 1 week old issued work letter. His current income is above the poverty line if that matters.

why do you need a joint sponsor when your husband's income is above poverty line? if he files taxes, has a good job with good pay, bank account, then i don't think needing a joint sponsor is necessary. have you checked the current poverty guidelines?

Because my husband didn't file taxes for the year 2005, 2006. And for the year 2007 he started working from august, so even though his overall yearly income is above poverty line, his taxes has been less than poverty line for the year 2007.

i see, now i understand why there's a need for joint sponsor. just make sure the joint sponsor's ITR/IRS, W2 and paystubs are included in the packet you'll be mailing to NVC. be sure to make copies for you to keep and for you to send the beneficiary (though not necessary but it pays to be OVERLY prepared) if she needs it. don't worry about the paystubs being 2 months old, as long as there's a letter from his/her employer (employment letter) on company stationary accompany the rest of the documents you are to send.
