But if that's the case then how can their target audience be those pesky commie-loving Dems?

It was just the "take my ball and go home" group. Say something I don't like, I'll cancel my subscription.

I remember when some dude dissed Mario in Nintendo Power once when I was a kid. I considered committing unspeakable acts against him for it, one of which was canceling my subscription. The other was getting my neighbors info to cancel it since it was his subscription I was stealing.

People cancel their subscriptions to magazines and book clubs all the time for all sorts of reasons. In my company the marketing aspect is interesting because as an editor you often have to forgo your judgement on the quality of the material, and instead go with what sells - even if that means for example, pandering to racism.

Still to use "Us Weekly" as an example of a so-called "Liberal Media Elite" is just ridiculous... Those magazines often don't deal in material that's overtly political and there's certainly nothing "elite" about Britney's new shoes, and who has the best beach body.
