Hi All,

Just got a letter that our AOS interview is scheduled for June 23. However I am confused regarding what to do about the following:

1) My husband (USC) is self-employed. He can't get a letter of employment from an employer nor does he have any pay stubs. What should we do?

2) Also he is a naturalised citizen so he doesn't have a birth certificate. Can we take his naturalization certificate instead of birth certificate?

Anyone else in this situation before? Please advise.

Thanks!

Jane

If he is self employed then, personal tax returns or corporate tax returns for his company would do. Naturilization certificate is okay.

From my list of documents:

My husband owns his own business, so we thought the officer would ask a lot of questions about that. We brought a lot of things to prove that he makes enough money:

*Current, dated letter from my husband's business. The letter was printed on the company's letterhead, indicating he is the owner, his current salary, hours per week, and date the company was founded.

*Wells Fargo personal account history.

*Compass bank business account history.

*Compass bank deposit receipts (5-6 receipts).

*"Assumed name records" for my husband's business.

Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
