Advance Parole without a specific trip planned

Hi all,

I was planning to file form I-131 with my AOS package so that I would be able to make short trips home (2 weeks or so) if I wanted to or in the event of an emergency. However, I see that the form requires you to give a specific date for your intended trip and then asks that you provide information to justify the issuance of the Advance Parole.

As of right now I dont have a specific journey in mind, I would just like to have the option to make a visit home if needed. Is this possible and if so how would I answer these questions?

Thanks for any advice.

Matt

We did not specify any dates for AP for my husband and our son. We wrote that both of his parents are elderly and we wanted the flexibility to be able to travel to his country when and if needed for medical emergency if one should arise. Their AP's were granted with no difficulties (see signature for timeline). I don't think you'll have a problem...

Good luck!

Maya

Many thanks to the Visajourney community for all the help!

There is no need for specific trip info, unless you are needing an Emergency AP. You will be all good. Although it woundn't hurt to state that you do plan to make a trip home but the date is TBD. Cheers
