Susie! I loved your posted. Totally inspirational and you are so right. I never think our plans will go as we want it just cause we plan them that way...lord of that was the case then everyone would get exactly everything, good and bad and we'd all be screwed

Thanks for the words! You gave me yet another boost that may hold me in my 13th month.

God bless Susie!

Tam

Stay strong, Tammy! I know that some days are better than others, and some days are very, very difficult and painful. Every day is a new day.

Every day I remember what you say about the visa being granted when it is the right time. Sometimes I doubt that and think this is all just a matter of bureaucracy, but at other times there does seem to be some grander design and that maybe it is better this way, perhaps for reasons I am not completely aware of right now. I do believe that everything will be alright in the end, and if it is not alright, it is not the end.

Take care of yourself and keep that positive mentality that you spread so often here. Feel free to PM me if you ever need to talk!

Julia

Ok...entering Month 13 of AP. How long can people take this without committing suicide. I have come to the point where I don't even know how to think about this anymore. I am numb, my husband is losing his job, I am losing my mind. I guess if they keep this up, they will see the end of me...I just never thought it would take over a year to process a case for two people of the same country with no red flags to speak of...at least it is better to be here than in false hopes of a visa that we were in at month 6.

I really hope that my husband keeps his strength and that I am able to endure this. Frankly, I cannot do anything right anymore and everything is held by a very thin thread...my sanity included.

hi tammy i get my visa in 2 october i am right now with my wife in san francisco,so i hoping that you heard the new news soon.thanks for your all your efforts with me

Oh Tammy

I feel you totally!

I cant imagine one year.

We are in AP 5 months now and it is extremely taxing.

Not knowing the duration or outcome of this has left us also in despair.

I KNOW as I have heard all of you say, GOD WILL COME THROUGH FOR US!

I believe it, I only hope my husband continue to withstand the harshness for which his life has been dealt.

Good luck

Insha-Allah you will get this visa! Expect a week or two after passport submission, because they may need to do the last final check and review. After that you should be all set.

Alhamdulillah, for getting this call, congratulations!

I think our men are probably a lot tougher than we give them credit for. We worry so much because we love them and it's natural, but the sad reality is that this harsh life is normal for them. My fiance laughs at me when I get all wigged out about Malaria. For him it's just a common cold.

Your husband will withstand. Have faith in him, too.

Ya totally. I cringe seeing the traffic and luckily I am not an actuary by profession or I would have predicted his and every one of our husband's deaths long time ago. Although he did almost die in 2006 from the motorcycle accident, it was na isolated case and not in the inner city or disease related.

They are indeed tough. I think that's another thing that attracted us to them.

Hello Alijan - Salam to you,

It seems that the embassy and the Department of State will check your travel records now and run those security checks on you. I will be realistic with you, right now getting visas quickly from Afghanistan is not easy. My husband is from Bangladesh, a country that never even had weapons and is pretty much powerless, and it is taking over 1 year to process. You may have to wait much longer than 2 months so Insha-Allah you will be ok but right now be prepared for at least 5-6 months average for cases coming from this region of the country. Tell your fiance/wife to come visit you if she has the time and money because it is hard to be separated. I wish you the best, and I know the pain of being separated. You need to wait until your travels are verified and your multiple security cheks are done before they can call you about visa issuance. This is not bad, it is generally done for all males and now more females coming through Asia and the Middle East/North Africa.

Insha-Allah everything will be ok for you. Keep your patience and faith strong. It may take a few months, but if everything is verified and cleaerd, you should get this visa.

I got three different things from the three sources. Embassy - AP is done. DOS - no its not. Senator - needs more processing.

I am officially going to sit back and see what happens - these "inquries" ae clearly not getting anywhere.

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.
