Today marks our 1 year of AP. Last September, it was a most horrible day for us. Today, we are hopeful and waiting for the visa. I am ill today, I guess that makes for a great anniversary :( .

I wish you all the best and keep each other updated.

Sending my love and prayers,

Tam

Tammy, my heart goes out to you.

You are a rare jewel on VJ with all the support you give everyone. I am waiting to see you post that you have that visa in hand.

I hope and pray you get out of AP soon and your husband can come home.

Tammy,

Wishing you all the luck of an answer this month. God knows you have waited long enough. We have been in AP for almost 3 months, and I don't think our marriage would last another 9 months of this #######. You must have nerves of steel!

Visa Journey:

Marriage: July 6, 2007

I-130 Sent: August 7, 2007

NOA1: September 24, 2007

I-129F Sent: September 25, 2007

NOA1: October 9, 2007

NOA2: March 7, 2008

Packet 3: March 28, 2008

Interview: June 24, 2008

AP: June 24, 2008

10 months in AP--will this ever end?

Tammy,

Why don't you call the Embassy? Get some straight answers from them?

I understand that you don't want to upset them or get on their bad side. But they have to realize they, the Embassy, is at fault for the delays. At this point I would start sending registered letters to the head of the consulate explaining that your husband showed up for his "scheduled interview" only to be told someone called in sick and could not interview and you have not been rescheduled.

The sqeecky wheel gets the oil...

I sincerely think that if you don't start complaining directly to them, Monirul's file will continue to sit on someones desk.

Hugs and my prayers are with you.

Tina

Thanks guys, I agree that action helps in many cases but actually they won't move a hair unless its time. I went to the embassy personally, and it did nothing.

It may help with other embassies but Dhaka embassy does not transfer to Americans. I tried this and much more.

I just know God has the best time.

God bless,

Tam

I was able to speak with an american woman (I had to call 2 weeks in a row as the Labor day week end got in the way) and she checked into our case personally and got back to me a week later with a aprox timeframe. I wont say what else has happened untill we know the result for sure and I expect to hear something next week ( I was told 2 weeks when they called me back and that will be next week). we dont want to jinx anything. but we expect to hear good news.

Indianheart,

You have a good case going for you. Your husband is not from a Muslim-majority nation, you don't have a huge age gap and your health problems are able to help you make a case. Yes let us hope your actions will gain fruitful results. Stay calm and confident and God will take you all the way. Pretty soon you will be looking for airline tickets!

Tammy,

My heart goes out to you. What a crappy anniversary!!

Try to keep busy --- even if that means getting into a good book.

Hugs!!!!

Ann

Ann,

I have been doing a lot of work and with classes too, I have been busy! I have been feeling good too, but then feel like I should be doing something. But I think you know that inquiring and asking doesn't help much. Especially in my case, they said AP is done and review is done. So I don't even know what to inquire about. I hope God finds our time soon and gives us this visa. Meanwhile I am makng the most of my days and my husband has been wraping things up in Bangladesh.

You had to wait over 11 months, so you know this wait better than most. Thanks for checking up on me.

Sending you my love and prayers,

Tam

Tina,

You have been one of my closest people during this journey. Yes I agree that file may be sitting somewhere, at least during this duration for a week or two but at this point he was specifically told that review is done and that no additional documents are required. We are waiting for the go-ahead for the medical. They don't answer calls about visas on the phone due to their policy and asks to e-mail. I e-mailed last time on August 18 or 20 and since his appointment date was Aug 24, they did not reply me and told him that AP is done and they will call him back.

I hope God feels that this Fall is a good time for us. It would be so wonderful to finally be together.

Take my love and prayers Tina.

God bless,

Tam
