It still has nothing to do with the OP. Just to give you a little hint, the post is about votes on taxes, government waste and nothing to do with all this other ####### your bringing up. But still, it's expected from you.

Ok Gary, article talks about Sensenbrenner being a super hero, so I was just showing how great a Republican hero he really is. Low taxes, prevent investigations, etc. You should be proud. :)

Notice how you're also dragging your own thread off-topic. Taxes have also been addressed here. You're just ignoring it.

You keep wandering off the topic. The story is about taxes and voting records. You brought in the other ####### in an attempt to change the subject. Typical BS from the usual suspects. It seems that all you want to do is slam and smear rather than talk.

Kinda always wondered how one doesn't vote for tax increases and even decrease them and then turn around and help increase the Governments size therefore costing more can be known as a fiscal Conservative.

Since what you're talking about sounds a whole lot like Bush and would be the philosophy of McSame, it's because, and I'll repeat it til I'm tired of saying it, the real moderate Republicans, fiscal conservative Rockefeller Republicans, are gone. All that's left is idiots harping about low taxes, instead use the government to benefit corporations (corporate socialism), and while maybe lowering taxes, spends a crapload, and expands the government. It's headed down the path of a corporate oligarchy, which is an authoritarian style government. Goes perfectly well with the collusion with AT&T (a company) to spy on Americans, Google, to launch a satellite.. to spy on Americans, and the quick evaporation of separation of powers (removing Congressional oversight, inserting like-minded ideologues into the Supreme Court).

I rest my case. No one wants to talk issues, only insults, smears and innuendo. Maybe I should just go back to posting hit stories on Obama.

Hey look at that, Gary refuses to talk about his own topic.

I rest my case.

If you would actually say something about the OP then I would be glad to talk to you about it. So far you have talked about everything but the OP.

By the way, McCain has a mixed history on taxes. He criticized the Bush tax cuts and voted against them until it was around election time. Then he voted for them, and is now pushing for them.

How convenient. :D

Here you go, Gary. I made it easy for you.

You're still derailing your own thread. Care to address the issues?

The issues are this, McCain and the reps in general reduce taxes (hence the "hero" status) and Obama and dems in general raise taxes (hence no "hero" status for them). All this other ####### about torture, spying and the other voluminous BS is just bashing. Try and stay on topic if you can.

So Gary, if McCain lowers taxes (Obama says he will too, especially for the average person), and with no doubt continues excessive spending that both Republicans and Democrats are at fault for, how is this money going to be paid off? By lowering taxes? Are the rich and further rich going to pay off those debts, Gary? Cause I don't see them doing it now.

History has shown that reducing taxes has raised the intake of taxes for the government. It's not that hard to understand, the more money in the hands of the people (via lower taxes) the more they spend. This was the rational of the tax rebate that we all got. The more they spend the better the economy does and there is a broader base for collecting those taxes.

As for the rich "paying off" the debt, you do realize that the top 10% of taxpayers already pays 90% of the taxes. Obama wants the rich to pay even more. That discourages people with money to invest in business's and that hurts you and me when we go to look for a job.

A US Senator that bears responsibility for taxpayer funds in excess of a trillion dollars needlessly wasted in the Iraqi desert and that is unable to come to terms with the mere fact that this was and continues to be a needless and wasteful expense w/ no benefit to this nation is hardly a hero to this taxpayer.

The tax rebate didn't work at all. Rationale failed. The reason the economy is faltering has only to do with taxes in that the high corporate taxes (which they mostly evade anyways) compared to other first world countries.

However, reducing taxes while spending more will NOT pay off debts. If you decide to spend money that isn't yours on credit, decide to take a lower paying job that will bring you in less income, how the flying #### is that going to help you pay off your debt? The only thing it does is take your credit and sink it straight to hell. Lowering taxes does NOT pay for debts and rising expenditures for BS like earmarks.

If their taxes are reduced, they are indeed paying less and contributing less.

Unless your philosophy is the rich are simply giving money by charity to the government. In which case, this is true, however, it's in the form of PAC money, not tax money.
