Cheap phone calls to USA

This is probably old news but thought I better share it.

I have bought a simcard from http://www.lebara-mobile.co.uk/en/ that cost £20. That is £10 for the simcard and £10 of calls. It is 4p a minute to a cell (as they say in USA ha ha) or a landline. You can top up on line too. Sorry but I only know this for UK people phoning internationally.

With this, emails on my blackberry (my misses has one in the USA so we don't have to text) and MSN, we are keeping as close as we possibly can.

Hope this helps someone

have you seen international saver from three? £15 a month for the service and you get 2500/3000 minutes to a landline or cell phone. it used to be available on pay as you go but they only offer it on contract now, still a good deal though imo

I use Skype to call, you can pay about £10 a month for this world wide call plan, you can then allocate yourself a local online number where your partner is, they will be able to call you on that number to your computer (you can pay extra to have the calls routed to your cell/mobile phone) the calls to the skype are unlimited (within reason), to the cell are local rates. depending on what carrier the partner is using you can use the carriers website to send free texts or you can email texts to their cell/mobile phone. i was also reading about this cute thing they do in italy where you drop call your partner, you call their number and hang up so they know you are thinking of them... i thoguht that was lovely.

I use post office phone cards. £5 buys you 300 mins ish.

The 3 deal is great though. Shame I have no contract with them these days.

Skype rocks too.
