my 2 cents worth..this is an issue for the orginal poster, not so much for her daughters, and it is to the point of causing anxiety for you and other issues within the family...i recommend go see a therapist..someone that does brief solution focus therapy (cognitive behavioral) ..they cut to the point the 1st session and be limited in sessions...

I don't think this is a flame war at all- she asked for our advice/opinions so she's getting it. I think she knows that her post, about homosexuality is going to get people a little riled up. Most of us have strong opinions about this topic and she can't expect for everyone to say "It's ok don't worry about it you're doing all the right things" because well maybe she isn't! It's not a flame war, just people sharing stories/opinions/advice about her situation which she clearly asked for since she chose to post this.

I don't think this is a flame war at all- she asked for our advice/opinions so she's getting it. I think she knows that her post, about homosexuality is going to get people a little riled up. Most of us have strong opinions about this topic and she can't expect for everyone to say "It's ok don't worry about it you're doing all the right things" because well maybe she isn't! Number one IMO: Pray for her

Number two IMO: Don't shut her out, this is when she needs you the most, but don't be afraid to talk to her about how you feel and discuss at great length.

Number three IMO: From experience, I have two close friends that were bi for some time and both have married men and said they "grew" out of it and decided they wanted to marry. They still find women attractive but love their husbands more.

Thank you Agent Smith. This is real. With all the immigration stress my husband and I have been going through, this just adds to it and I was wanting advice from people out there. I wanted advice from a large variety of people rather than just my 2 co-workers here at work or my parents or friends. I do love my daughter and this is a tough thing for me to go through - whether it is right or wrong. Again, these are my honest feelings and I wanted to get honest comments, which I have.

this is not about 'my daughter is homosexual' ... this is about the mother's embarrassment of such, clearly demonstrated by the fact that she's under an anonymous name ... she's not even comfortable sharing this fact on the internet.

as i've suggested before, get your priorities straight and seek a support group to help with your fears and embarrassment issues. this is your child ... nothing should stand in the way of that.

One can be put down, made fun of, and discriminated against because of more than just being "gay". FWIW, I have many gay friends who are definitley not put down, made fun of, or discriminated against. We are living in a society where judging people based on their sexual preference is becoming majorly outdated.

People are persecuted for many different reasons. Homosexuality is only one of them.
