Anyone ever have a problem with this?

So, when my fiance sent back the Packet 3 forms, he posted it to the address on the cover letter (Immigrant Visa Branch, US Embassy 5 Upper Grosvener Street, W1A 2JB) instead of the Grosvenor Square address. When I called the DOS in Washington, the woman explained that the one he sent it to was the physical address while the Grosvenor Square address is the mailing address.

Problem is, he just sent it via the normal post, and we have no way to really track it. He sent it the 19th of August and they still have no record of it. Does anyone know if Royal Mail is likely to figure out where the wires got crossed and eventually get it there, or will anything sent to the physical address vs. the mailing address be returned?

Bollox - I sent it to the address on the form too, I mean why wouldn't you, ffs!!!!!!??? Mmmmm, unlike your fella though, I did send it recorded delivery, and have confirmation that it ws received. Surely they'll figure it out?

We just sent ours yesterday to the address on the cover letter. They don't state anywhere else on the paperwork to send it to. Ugh I hope it gets there okay. We sent it recorded so I can track it. Should be there by tomorrow. I hope this is okay!

Then that's strange. It's been just about three and half weeks since he's sent it and they're telling me to wait another week. I don't mind sending it back, or waiting if waiting is what it takes, but I hate not knowing which one I should do either way.

If they have told you to wait another week then that is what I would do.

Definitely wait -- it was nearly 4 weeks until I heard anything back after sending in my packet 3. We too had sent it to the address on the cover letter -- if I'm not mistaken, the P3 used to tell you specifically that that was the address to send it to. I know its frustrating, but you'll make it. If you still haven't heard anything in a week, send it again.

Just an update - I got an email saying my packet was signed for and received today. It said it was delivered to the mail room so I guess it got there okay. I guess the address on the cover letter is okay to send to. Like people have stated before, I would just wait another week and then resend.

OK, so just to clarify this once and for all, I emailed the embassy regarding which address P3 should be sent to.

This morning, I received the following reply:

"Dear Mr. P,

The forms to which you refer have been received and processed by the Immigrant Visa Unit. You can expect to be contacted within the next 2 - 4 weeks with an appointment date and time.

Thank you for your e-mail correspondence."

So there you have it - send P3 to the addy on the cover letter.
