I have moved to the states and I am now married. I recently sent off all the documents for my change of status to become a permanent resident. I have received a letter with a date to have my biometrics taken. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how long it takes to get the change of status after that.

No one can accurately answer that. You can keep track of progress by looking at others whose timelines are close to yours and I'll wager you'd find that in the Regional Forum area where others from the UK post their progress. Best wishes while you wait. :)

It took ours six months after her biometrics.

EAD and AP have been approved for many people lately after about 70 to 80 days from the date of filing. Some are a little faster, and some are slower. The timing of the green card interview (if you have an interview) depends on the local office and can vary quite a bit. Do a search for the city where you'll be interviewed in the AOS forum or the timelines section, and check out the timelines of those who were interviewed there. That will give you some idea.
