February 18, 2008 - Submitted the Form 129 to USCIS and received NOA after a week, I guess.

July 18, 2008 - Form 129 approved.

July 24, 2008 - Received the approval letter from USCIS.

August 9, 2008 - Received the letter from the US Embassy saying that I should call them anytime to schedule an interview.

My question is, up until now, my fiance (US) has not received anything from the NVC. But the strange thing is that, i already got my packect from the US Embassy (Philippines). Does he still need to call NVC?

And also, his mom is going to be our cosponsor. Does she need tax returns too? And does she need 3 years tax returns? And how about my fiance, does he need to submit 3 years tax returns or 2 years would do it? He already has his 2 years tax returns available in his hands. Would that be all? Would 2 years tax return do it?

I haven't called the Embassy to make an interview schedule yet.

Only need the most recent year tax returns for the embassy interview. 3 years may be required for AOS later.

Hi,

Based on what I know is that the government would like to see the 3 three years of income tax return to make sure that you don't owed any tax to the government. I don't think CO really care what is your income in the past but the present income is what they look at. If you don't file the tax return during those three years make sure you write a letter stating that you are not making enough to qualify to file income tax return. In your case if your present income is not enough, definitely need a cosponsor.
