Hello,

We applied for my wife's I751 almost a year ago. We had the biometrics done already but have not received appt. notice or anything else. The NOA we got says we can use the letter to travel for one year but that's up in November and we want to visit her family in December.

Anyone had any experience with this?

Advice appreciated, thanks!!

Make an INFOPASS appointment before the extension letter expires (it expires a year after your GC expired), and take your expired GC, the extension letter, and your passport, and ask for an I-551 stamp to be put in your passport since the extension letter is set to expire. The stamp will be sufficient for travelling, and if yo uare lucky, will be valid for a year (most of the time people get the six month stamp). You probably need to take your expired card along with you when you do travel.

thanks!!

So the RMV-type clecks at the info pass will actually do this? My experience at this office has been horrible, these people are attrociously incompetent.

Just want to make sure that that's all I'll need, the GC, the expiring NOA and, passport?

You may also wish to take any sort of evidence you have of your travel plans in December. Your expired card, the expiring NOA and the unexpired passport should be sufficient, but it wouldn't hurt to show you have an imminent need for status proof as well.

Thanks. Is there a fee for this stamp or is it free?
