I usually get skulls back within a week or so, Unless your desire is an english mount in that case we decide what backing you want and I order it. very cheap prices, and i do top notch work. Your skull will be cleaned professionally and have a protective coating. I do military discounts!!!!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Oh yes. I agree!

PS I certainly hope this guy is a taxidermist-type. Otherwise, I am scared!

Yeah taxidermy...

And I see it's from Anchorage...lots of hunting around there I assume. Doesn't surprise me.

ETA: It's under the category Sporting goods, I thought it was worth mentionning before people freak out of their mind that the guy is a serial killer or something.

Depends on what you're going for as to if the human counter-part is actually scary. I do bioarchaeology, but our cousin with the same degree is forensics and lots of us have spent time in the forensics labs doing IDs, boiling down people, whatever. The ME only deals with soft tissue usually, and it's up to a physical anthropologist to work on the bones. Sometimes, if an area is very unpopulated, a physical anthropologist who is NOT actually in the field of forensics, like one who does my area, will volunteer our skills to local law enforcement as an extra pair of hands in case it's needed. Every once in a while you'll find fully/mostly decomposed bodies that the ME can't actually deal with and you need to call in a PA to tell age, sex, and look for a possible cause of death. We can all do that, as we all do it-- it's just someone like me does it in an archaeological setting where no sad people or crimes are attached, and someone in forensics takes the newly dead peeps. Same processes though.

That's why I made the Gain comment... although I've noticed taxidermists seem utterly oblivious to the Gain idea whenever I talk to one. I have no idea why-- it's soooo much easier!! You just toss the head/whatever into Gain (cheapest and best laundry detergent) and into a crockpot or whatever you're using to boil it down after defleshing, and it just turns the tissue to goo. It's pretty simple and easy, much easier than straight boiling and cleaning, and it doesn't damage things like using bleach (despite what CSI says).

ETA: of course we wouldn't put out a Craigslist ad for this :)
