Hello everyone. There are a lot of questions going through my mind right now about the K1 process. PLS HELP ME! :help:

Question:

1. Is it required to have a job to petition my fiancee? We both graduated last april, im still reviewing for my board exam and about to take it this oct. I dont have a job still but i have my dad as my sponsor. Is it going to be a problem that i dont have a job?

2. OMG! NOA 2 is taking forever. :protest: its been 3 months for me now! Any june '08 filers received their NOA 2 already?

3. In the I-129F form question number 18, how you and your fiancee met, i just wrote "we were classmates from 2nd year through graduation". Is it going to be a problem that i didnt write the detailed information on how we met?

4. What are the common grounds for denial?

This site is really helpful!

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE! :star:

1. You don't need a job, but you do need to fill out the 1-134 (and later the I-864) along with your co-sponsor.

2. Its normal to wait 3-5 months.

3. Your answer is fine, it doesn't need to be long or very detailed.

4. Basically anything that appears fraudulent. If something is missing from your application, they will send you a letter requesting that information and then you have an opportunity to respond within a certain time limit.

Is it going to be a problem that i dont have a job?No - it's not required to have a job and the affidavit of support will be reviewed by the consulate/embassy at the time of the interview, not by USCIS.

2. OMG! NOA 2 is taking forever. :protest: its been 3 months for me now! Any june '08 filers received their NOA 2 already? According to your timeline, you're potential adjudication date is coming soon. (I know, not soon enough..but still)

3. In the I-129F form question number 18, how you and your fiancee met, i just wrote "we were classmates from 2nd year through graduation". Is it going to be a problem that i didnt write the detailed information on how we met?Sounds fair enough

4. What are the common grounds for denial? :unsure:Probably most common reason is not having met the basic requirements of the I-129f - such has having met in person within the past two years, or not being eligible to marry etc.

I think you have about a month until your noa2 shows up, based on what I've been reading through the forums and igor's list, currently late April are getting the bulk of noa2's and a few May 1st noa2's... The wait sucks, but you're about 3/4 of the way through the longest waiting period of the process now, and I'm completely jealous as I'm still probably 4 months away if things go smoothly.

I'm not sure PI accepts co-sponsors. You're going to want to visit the PI regional thread here on VJ and look for the sticky post at the top by Sherriff Uling. ;)
