The best thing to do while you are waiting for the NOA2 is PATIENCE!!!! LOTS OF PATIENCE!!! and try to communicate eachother......I was very sad at the beginning of our journey because he couldnt come to visit me since he bought a new house for us!!!!...but he told me he hasnt decorated the house yet!. He is waiting for me to decorate the house the way so we set a time and we go online, looking for furniture so we can keep busy (L)(L)(L)

Do not stress yourself and good luck!!!

Miss G

I just wanted to tell you not to rely on when you are going to know anything. This process is completely unpredictable and everyone's situation unique as much as their outcome.

I feel the same. This process has left us in despair and my husband and I are going through a rough patch.

As you see, my husband lives in Morocco. It is neither practical nor financially possible for me to live there with him, not even on a temporary basis, so basically over the last 18 months I have seen him a mere 3 weeks worth of time.

It is frustrating as all hell and my husband is now losing hope and has been severely depressed add the fact that 3-4

months ago he was hit by a car and injured...I felt so helpless and angry that I couldnt be there for him.

It just leaves things stagnant. It puts tremendous strain on the relationship not to mention they make it a huge financial challenge to met requirements for all the things.

We are currently in AP, it has been 4 months now and 6 months since the last time I saw him. Being in AP is like being in a black hole. I could go on about the major upset we have faced in this process, but why bother, it doesnt change the fact that we are waiting and have no clue how much more long we will wait.

It has been 1 year and 2 months since we started this process. I cant tell you how many times we got hopeful and several times would begin to think he would be here soon. Now it all seems like a dream.

I am doing all I can to encourage my husband and keep him hanging on to the hopes and dreams we have but Immigration is slowly killing it. I feel so bad, not just for myself but for all of people who are so truly in love but since 9/11 it is hard to even have our SO visit us.

Even as Americans, it seems we dont have some rights we should be entitled to.

Good luck to you all!

As someone else said...we have voicechat and webcam going almost 24/7. Much less now that it's so close to the interview and we both have a LOT to do to get ready. Skype is the best that we found for voicechat and webcam...it's very reliable and it's free. The advice that I kept hearing and now wish I had followed is to do other stuff...don't spend all of your time pining way at the computer. The wisdom of that advice didn't truly hit me until the last month or so...I feel like I've spent a year doing nothing but sitting in front of my computer. I miss Dennis so much and I can't wait for him to be here...but I feel like I missed a year of life by sitting in front of the computer so much. Find a hobby and enjoy it, it will help keep you busy until you're through this part. :)

thank you so much for all the advice and info.. i feel alot better speaking to people in the same situation.. its amazing what real love can overcome.. I know we will get there eventually.. it just takes alot of mastering your emotions and staying focused. there is no one else I would rather be with so theres no other option

If the US citizen got time, he or she can visit the fiance(e) any time without US visa issue

yeah of course but its really hard thinking should I save the money for our future or should i buy the flight. We trying to save up so when we are together we have a good start. So if anyone knows of any good deals USA TO UK.. let me know..

You did your timeline! :) Shows an adjudication date of February 2008 - they are usually a pretty good indication. Be warned that the date will shift too - in either direction dependent on new data. So, it might be sooner or later than that. The September 2008 filer thread should give you good information on what's happening with applications filed around the same time and they are a great resource for support. The K1 filer thread I belonged to still exists and we still support one another even though we are now at different stages in the process.

It's also really easy to say this in retrospect, but saving up for the future rather than buying flights in the interim is a really great idea - AOS takes time and you will need money to keep you going in the first few months of married life. Having said that, I didn't follow my own advice and visited the US for two 4-6 week trips during my K1 wait which did make it so much easier.

There is a lot of preparation to do during the wait. Keep yourself busy by staying on top of the process and making plans for your future. Adjustment can be hard and it helps a lot if both the USC and the beneficiary are aware of the changes both of you will go through once you are together permanently.

Good luck!

Join the August or September waiting room in the forum below to keep up with people who filed at the same time as you.

We filed for ours a month ago... not expecting our visa until next March / April... ish.

Really??? Wow Chris and I are expecting ours in Jan or Feb if we dont get held up, the bonus is that once you get the NOA2 in Aus its about 4weeks from the visa (getting the interview interview is really quick).

Yeah I'm trying to be as harshly realistic as possible to avoid frustrations... if we get approved by Christmas, it will still take time to get to the NVC and then to the Consulate... and then it can take a couple months for the interview date. But I won't be able to move until next summer anyway as I'm still in school.

*sigh*

You just have to tell yourself it's all for the future.

As I said to someone else, the lonliness can get unbearable at times but you just have to think whats a few months apart when you'll have a lifetime together.

I'm not going to see Tom until Feb next year and that's not for sure yet so in the mean time I'm just trying to keep myself busy. We try and chat every day one way or another and plan our new life together.

If you do need someone to talk to then you can talk to any one of us on here as we are all going through the same thing.

Whereabouts are you in the UK?

But you are in a visa waver country, so you could fly over for a visit, right?

My fiancee is not in a visa waver country... so she's stuck there until approval.

I'm curious as to why you didn't apply for a K3 visa which is MUCH quicker....

I myself just stay busy working, about 12 to 14 hours a day and spend the rest on the phone, computer, or text messaging. I am lucky and I have the financial means and a flexible job, so I fly over to see her every other month for 12 days, (1 month in Dec). So we spend the rest of the time counting down the days, I just got back on the 10th of September and will be back on Oct 30th. So that is 39 days and decreasing....

Good luck, try not to think about it to much

As many others have said, try to keep yourselves busy. My Sweety has recently gone back to school. I strongly encouraged her to go back so she wouldn't focus to much on our wait. We spend time with each other chatting and talking on the phone. It is by no means easy waiting, but we don't have much of a choice. So stay strong and the time will go by and Good Luck!!

Yours Truly,

Maria and Steve

One way that I cope with it is by thinking it is another day closer and not another day of waiting

You never know when it is gonna happen, I saw on Igors list that someone got their NOA2 in 16 days and I am still in shock over that one.

We speak on e-mail all the time and try to speak every day, depending if he can wake me up ha ha time difference is such a pain

We met up in Cancun last month for a holiday, and I am going to go to the States for Christmas I am not going to let this process stop me getting on with my life and not going just incase the visa come through, it just means that I will have to delay sending back my packet 3, and if they turn me back from the States at Christmasd for my visit then that is a risk we are willing to take. I am going there as I have more holiday so we can spend more time together. I will however take a letter to the states showing that I am returning back to work and all my visa info

This is a hard process especially when you see people who have been approved who filed after you, but you just have to be happy for them and think that it is 1 less couple infront of you

Keep your chin up all the best things are worth waiting for

Shaz

Yep they're all correct, to cope up with wating and missing your love. you just have to keep yourself busy getting the documents you need for the interview.

it's very hard to wait but there's always beauty in it cause it strengthened your love for each other..

Good Luck on your journey!!:dance::dance::dance:
