Hello Everyone,

I am getting ready to travel to China and meet the woman in my life. She is the Niece of my moms close friend. We have been talking on the phone, msn, for over a year now. I need some general help if anyone would kindly answer or add to my questions. I got print out for the K-1 Visa step by step guide. I believe the I-129F would be filled out by me. As for question 18, do I just write in detail my trip to China and how we met?

On #16, If your fiancee native alphabet uses other than Roman letters, write her name and address abroad in the native alphabet. Here does she fill this out in Chinese?

G-325A questions:

I know both of us have to fill this out. I am not worried about mine. For her can she write in chinese and sign in chinese? or does this have to be done in English?

On the Letter of certifying intent to marry:

Can she write in Chinese? she does not know English much. If so do I need it translated?

She gets her mail sent to her work. She does not have a mailing on the apartment where she lives. Can we use that work address for her address?

I believe I have sufficient proof of ongoing relationships. Just needed some help filling forms out and what I need to make sure I get before I come back home.

Please add to anything I haven't covered. Maybe what I need to make sure I get from her.

Thanks for your attention.

Vinny

1) Yes

2) Yes if Chines is her native alphabet

3) No, prepared in English... signed however she wants

4) Any evidence NOT submitted in English REQUIRES a translation

5) Use whatever address you want to assure delivery of mail

6) You have not met... you have no relationship yet other than penpal... whatever evidence you have prior to face to face meeting is useless for the i-129f

YMMV

For the letter of intent, I'd just write it for her and have her sign it. Do everything in English except the native alphabet section. I would take some sticky labels with me and have her sign her name about 20 times on them. Then you can cut and paste where you need them. The only original signature needed from her with the petition is on the letter of intent. As for the mailing address, I'd use a separate sheet. I had my wife type the address in Chinese, exactly as it needed to appear on the envelope, with only the word China in English. I then provided it on a separate sheet and referred to that sheet on the forms where applicable. I used the same Word document to print on envelopes or labels for my own mailings.

People who meet their Chinese (not just Chinese) fiancee through family members particularly if they are also Chinese often have a difficult time with convincing a Consular Officer they have a bona fide relationship. The best evidence is showing time spent together. Multiple visits are good. When you take pictures, do it in various locations in varied wardrobe and with various family members on various times and days. You're going to have to overcome the assumption this intended marriage was not arranged for immigration benefits alone. Guangzhou is definitely a high fraud post and if your fiancee is from Fujian province, she'll face even more scrutiny.

I recommend you join http://www.candleforlove.com for more China specific support. It's really good that you're here before that first visit so you can be prepared.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
