Yeah, AFfidave of Support has been accepted. I just spoke to someone at NVC. She told me that we have to be completed by the 2nd week of November to be able to be in the embassy in December, so i am hoping that my husband hurries up. Otherwise, we will spend another Christmas apart. I don't want that. He is going to submit his passport this week for renewal and then get his Police Clearance. He cannto get hsi Police Clearance without his passport. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Pray for us. You know what? Even if he doesn't get here for Christmas atleast we know that we won't be apart another Christmas, so it would be bad but not so bad. It would at least give me some more time to prepare. :star:

God has a plan, he knows what is best. I will let him make it happen the way it is supposed to be. :star:

Mrs Rowe I see your timeline says your husband needs to update his passport. Is it because it has expired or is that something they need to do before coming to the US regardless?

It may be a stupid question, but if I don't ask I won't know :)

Thanks.

No, it's expired and though i told him months ago to take care of it. ofcourse he waits until the last minute to get it done, so now we are stuck waiting on him and if we are not completed by the 2nd week in November, we will get a Januar interview.

I know the feeling; I'm also pushing and prying to get done by the second week of November for a chance at a December interview. I figure if I can mail everything by next monday or tuesday; that will give NVC about 3 1/2 weeks to process the paperwork and approve the visa. Then, the next step would be to figure out if there is any backlog at the embassy (hopefully not) and if the embassy decides to take less appointments in December due to the holidays.

It's a waiting game at the moment. All that we can do is work on what we can do at the moment (get the papers ready, wait for the invoice to arrive in the mail) and hope we make it.

Good luck to everyone.

Well mrsRowe and Garu

I sure hope you get a good Christmas present :star:

Even if I get done anytime by the middle of December I will be happy. I used a lawyer and paid for everything up front. She won't pay my stuff line at all. I guess lawyers have to feel important and do everything the traditional way :angry: However, I am going to China for Christmas and New Years. They don't much celebrate Christmas and they do not celebrate New Year's because they live by the Lunar calendar. But, our anniversary is 12/24 and we will celebrate that while I am there :dance: It also takes about 4 months to get an interview in China so feel very luck. I only want done with NVC by the middle of December. Then I can go back and be with my wife during the interview in April :star:

Even though not there yet, i have a question about the interview....

Would my husband need copies of everything that is sent to NVC from me, since I will be the agent, or do they need originals at the interview also???

Taxes

DS forms

Employment letters

Bank statements

Affidavits

etc....

Also called NVC this Morning nothing generated on my case yet...

MrsRowe, I feel your pain, LOL... it took forever for me to get Govi to just get the DS-3032 out... I copied the form from Loto's shortcuts, put in our names, addresses, etc, told G all he had to do was cut and paste it into a new email message and send it off and he still didn't quite get it....

Still we are not rushing too much, G will be here for good in July God willing and if we have a January interview even we will be happy - I am planning on going over in May and would like to buy our tickets in mid-February so we are hoping for VISA IN HAND by Feb '09. Now is festival season when everything shuts down until the 28th(Diwali), G went to visit his uncle today and will be coming back to KTM on Sunday. I told him when he comes back to get his PCC - I am assuming it will be business as usual at the police station. Since he will have his interview in Nepal he does not need his birth certificate translated, correct? So then he will just need to get his photos, marriage certificate he has already...

On my part I just need to get my employer letter, already have my tax returns for last 3 years. Since we have an automated payroll system and I do not recieve physical paychecks I am hoping it will be OK to print out pay record for the year to date?

Wow Phillip, 4 months???? :crying:

This is the one blessing for us, once it gets to KTM he will have to wait maybe 1 month max for interview - for K-1s I have heard of KTM scheduling the interview the next week after the file gets there!!!! I am sad and nervous because it means I will not be able to be with Govi that day, but am praying he will do well anyway. On the advice of another Nepal VJer I am going to fax and email KTM embassy letting them know why I cannot be there and for them to call me if they have any questions.

As soon as your status changes to PAID, print out the barcode sheet and sent in your AOS package.

Was your choice of agent accepted yet? If you have sent it in already and not sure if it was accepted yet or not check if your IV bill says "not invoiced" or not paid. If it says not invoiced then it hasnt been accepted yet but if it says not paid then go ahead and pay it! Then just follow save steps as above like you will for AOS - print barcode and mail your ds-230 package!

good luck!
