Ah yes, the old "I don't need to take responsibility for my words" ploy.

I never said I don't take responsibilty for my words. I said I don't take responsibility for how you take them personally, and they weren't even directed to you personally.

Why is suggesting politeness considered an "all too common liberal ploy"?

You didn't suggest politeness, you suggested that I post in a manner that doesn't disturb YOU. That assertion is highly subjective. Besides, if you are so easily slighted, you are in the wrong place.

I suppose we can all be hypocritical geniuses.

Thank God, I'm not a hypocritical genious. Just curious, would you call that remark polite, since you say you prefer politeness?

Also, even though you are quite keen on stereotyping, not all liberals have "MTV values." It might shock you to know that some people who aren't Republicans value life (all life, not just when it suits them) and morals. Bill Clinton was as much an azzhat for cheating on his wife as McCain is.

Then, you have answered your own question about why can't liberal mess up. It's clear that the can and do I wouldn't equate Bill's infidelity and the infidelity of a man who was a POW and separated from his wife for 5.5 years.

But it's much tidier to have lines drawn in the sand and to sling mud and basically be as rude as those who are campaigning. Hey, after all, if you value politeness and intelligent discourse, by all means, you're a whiny commie lover.

Practice your values, don't just speak of them.

I don't think we should excuse a man's infidelity because he was in a POW camp. That's disrespectful to all POWs.

Also, I never suggested you should rephrase your words because they disturbed ME but rather because you were being stereotypical.

Beg to differ, but starting with the "liberal means you have no brains" comment is what made me point out the stereotype to begin with.

I'm certainly free to post my opinion of the comment, though I'm not sure where you got the idea I was too sensitive to be here...

That would be true if one was stereotyping POWs. I wasn't inferring that all POWs leave their wives, but that trauma and/or a long separation can change the personal dynamics in a person and the relationships they have with others. When my sister-in-law left my brother after a frightening bout with cancer, it never occured to me to factor all cancer patients into their equation. Yet, I understand how such a life altering event can make you reevaluate what you want in life. If we were going to condemn all who had affairs or broken marriages, no matter how long ago, we'd be waaaay too busy to be here discussing this ancient history.

Also, I never suggested you should rephrase your words because they disturbed ME but rather because you were being stereotypical.

Being stereotypical is no crime on the OT! Besides, the words are not mine, but a version of an oft quoted line falsely attributed to Winston Churchill, but perhaps paraphrased from a quote from French nobleman and pro-monarchist Francois Guisot: Not to be a republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head.

Beg to differ, but starting with the "liberal means you have no brains" comment is what made me point out the stereotype to begin with.

And you went on to prove that you can stereotype with the best of them.

I'm certainly free to post my opinion of the comment, though I'm not sure where you got the idea I was too sensitive to be here...

I got the idea because you were offended by little or nothing. It's a dead give away.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I understand plenty. That's why that terrorist loving, commie Obama won't be getting my vote. I'm about what they do today, not 30 years ago.

If you're not a liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative when you're older, you have no brains.

I've got great brains.

 And so humble also.

Humble? Don't be such an emotional woman, everyone knows that conservatism (of the Churchilian brand of course and not capitalised, which is significant) is the only course for the mature male!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
