This is what I am talking about The Guide

I posted this guide first created by Loto on VJWiki but it still needs tons of work, I see now some people are taking interest and are already trying to make it better.

So what I am suggesting is give your opinion, critique and judgment so we can make it better.

I invite all Wiki Masters to participate in this.

Here are some false items from the Loto guide:

Required documents from the petitioner for I-864 Affidavit of Support Package

1. Last 3 years IRS Tax Transcripts (otherwise, last 3 years 1040 and W-2/1099)

2. Original Employment Letter

3. Original pay stubs (try to include all of them of the current year and/or one that includes salary to date)

Items above are OPTIONAL, as per current 864 detailed instructions only 1 year is required, 3 years are optional if 1 year does not qualify. Employment letter is required only if last year did not qualify but current year will.

second NNN is the three digit Julian Date NVC assigned the case, last NNN is the three digit serial number of the day NVC assigned the case.

Incorrect, has nothing to do with the Julian calendar, just day of the year+500.

Step 4 – U.S Consulate Interview

Required documents:

# I-130 set, I-864, DS-3032 and DS-230 sets provided by the petitioner (Need clarification, do not need to bring these with you!)

# Applicant’s identification info, such as driver license, voter’s registration card etc. (Passport and original 230 docs are sufficient)

# All applicant’s education, employment and all personal files (??? all? all personal files? someone made an error here, none of these are required, some might be optional if they help your case.)

:help:

Sorry...not a Wiki Master...but I compiled the following info.

1. NOA2 - Pettions Approved Notice received.

You find out from USCIS that your "Petition was Approved".

Start gathering the paperwork required for AOS and IV, especially PCC (Police Clearance Certificate),

Birth Certificates and Tax info, as well as any other info needed for I-864.

PCC can take a long time to receive...but they are valid for 1 year.

2. USCIS Sends Package to NVC (could take a couple of days or a couple of weeks).

3. NVC Scans Package.

This marries the USCIS receipt number to your newly generated NVC number which is based on

EEEYYYYOOOSSS

E = 3 digit embassy code (example TKY for Tokyo)

Y = 4 digit code for year (example 2008)

O = 3 digit code for Ordinal date plus 500 (example Aug 28 = 241st ordinal day ADD 500 = 741)

S = Sequence number of the day (if you were the second approval scanned, your code would be 002)

Full Example of NVC case number = TKY2008741002

4. Getting your NVC number.

Once your package has been scanned, it COULD update into the AVR (automated voice response system).

If it is uploaded to the AVR, you will be able to retrieve it with your CISC receipt number.

If is scanned but not in the AVR, an operator can tell you the NVC number.

The AVR is NOT reliable.

5. Case info is manually loaded into system.

Even though you have an NVC number, your case information still needs to be manually input before anything else can happen.

Until such time that documents are fully loaded in, NVC will not generate or accept DS3032 (Choice of Agent) via email or US Postal Mail.

Attempts to send DS3032 via email, may or may not receive an automated response...but the automated response does

not mean it's been accepted. When your case has been manually input, the DS3032 and AOS fee bills will be generated.

Also, when the AOS fee bill is generated, your IIN is created.

Your case could be input immediately or could take weeks. Remember these words "Maybe tomorrow, maybe in 4 to 6 weeks, maybe never, there is no pattern".

6. Send DS3032 to continue processing.

Once all documents are fully loaded in, the AVR message MIGHT change.

Operators will be able to tell you if the DS3032 has been generated.

If the DS3032 has been generated, you can email your COA (See the Wiki for address and format)

Once accepted, you will get an email message...or you can confirm with opeartor.

Attempts to email DS3032 before it's been generated are useless. It's like trying to pay a water bill for a house that hasn't been built yet.

The auto response email just means that they accepted your email. It doesn't mean they can do anything with it.

7. Getting your IIN

You can attempt to get your IIN (invoice identification number) from an operator.

The IIN allows you to pay the AOS and IV bills online.

It is usually NOT EASY to obtain your IIN. Some dedicated souls have taken over 30 attempts to extract this information from an operator.

If they say no, don't waste time begging, arguing, or using logic....just hangup and call again. Eventually, someone will give you the number.

If you are unable to obtain your IIN, you can use "James Shortcuts" (in the Wiki) to create your own AOS bill and send the payment in the mail...

but only after the AOS bill has been generated. Same applies to IV Fee bill.

Time for them to accept your payment will vary.

LingChe NVC Guide

Using this guide may allow you to fly through NVC in as little as 11 days.

What version of LOTO's guide did you use when creating the page on WIKI. I know that LOTO made a lot of changes and then published many version accordingly. He also told me to put it on wiki but then I got busy at work so I couldn't focus on it for a while. Meanwhile you published this guide on WIKI so over the weekend I made some correction for better look and feel.

I can definitely contribute to WIKI page improving look and feel as well as content. Previously I worked mostly on James's Shortcuts. There is still more correction required on DS-230 section. I know that LOTO used to refer to wiki page of James's shortcuts while creating this guide for NVC process.

Let's hope that other people also join in this effort as wiki syntax is not bad, and there is tons of help available online.

Yes, maybe, in some countries they ask for marriage contract in arabic, in addition to marriage certificate. That's why it needs to be specified, what is required for all, regardless. Country specific info is posted on country's embassy site or state.gov country specific info.

Otherwise there is no reason to post guide. To bring "extra paper" like all education, employment, and mysterious "all personal files", and 3032 130 230 864 all files (????) is kind of silly. I am almost done with process, and some of posts and guides confused more than they helped.

Pappu1980 I think you need to go over the links in the guide and fix them up a little bit. Since you made some changes some of them don't work.

Thank you for your help, keep up the good work

I added some links to list of all US Consulates and Embassays. I think in the process of copy/paste some of them has issue.

I will fix it later when I would have some chance. Thanks for letting me know.

I moved the Guide to: How Do I Bring My Spouse (Husband or Wife) to Live in the United States? I think it will be easier to find in google if its worded that way.
