Hey guys,

I've got the K-1 visa right now and plan to have POE on 10-4-2008 with the wedding on 10-11-2008. I'm moving to California and will live there until early January 2009, at which time my wife and I will be moving to Texas. Does this affect the AOS process at all? Will they still be mailing things to the California address?

If anyone's gone through this and has any tips, that would be most appreciated.

Thanks

I moved into a new house that we purchased back in February before my wife came over on her K-1, but after she had been approved. I mailed in a form and actually I think I was later than I was supposed to be in filing, but nonetheless I received a quick confirmation by mail, so no biggy.

From USCIS: "Customers who have filed an application or petition with USCIS but have not yet received a decision (a "pending" case) should notify USCIS of any change of address as soon as possible after moving."

You (the US Citizen) can change it online...the USCIS website has more info here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

Immigrants in the US are required to notify USCIS of any move within 10 days, by using form AR-11. Their sponsors (spouse) are required to notify USCIS within 30 days by using form I-865.

If your AOS is still pending, it would be advisable to follow-up with the local district office in both California and Texas by sending them photocopies of both forms, because they sometimes forget to forward pending files.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
