That is the most accurate and sensible post ever on this forum! You rock!

I said it before and I'll say it again....

If we are going to give Obama a pass on what Reverand Wright said, then we have to give Palin a pass on what her preacher says. It isn't the candidate up there making those comments.

Except when there's video of it. In that case, let the viewer decide if Palin's fundamentalism is sound or not.

Suddenly Republicans are concerned about hypocrisy.

Great that's all we need a religious nutcase running for office... politics and religion only ever = one thing.. conflict guaranteed every single time! How Christian is that, if these people had brains they'd be dangerous!

I'm sorry to imform you but.......Bush falls into the same category as the above. If you haven't read about him "getting religion", it is a must read.

If you want to see how that affects government--just look around us.

What you get is a bunch of "the ends justifies the means"--which really translates into "I am going to throw my beliefs in the garbage can and do what God wants me to do" which really means, I am going to do what I want to do.....

History lesson: Hitler was a Roman Catholic.

Correction: Was born

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

And Afro American roots inner city religion Chicago is not bad enough? What is so bad about Pentecostal compared to Ovomit's racist church? Come on people open your eyes.

It's even worse than I thought.

Fundi Christian is bad enough...

4-Square/Pentecostal is much, much worse. And very, very freaky. About the same level as snake-handling.

The freakin city has a notorious history of corruption, which is obviously still ingrained in the culture there.

I think Pentecostalism, in general, has had allegations of cultism attached to it - certainly it is a more radical than your typical Christian denomination. The Peniel Church near my neck of the woods was even suspected of trying to infiltrate the Brentwood conservative party with a view to fixing the local election.

I'm only concerned about someone's religion if they're going to legislate on the basis of it.

Wonder who's running scared now.

Still no Gary..

Few people made a larger issue of Obama's pastor than he.

Here we go again. . . with a repost even more relevant now.

I don't know. Obama's kinda scary with all his religious references.

"Lord – Protect my family and me," reads the note published in the Maariv daily. "Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."

http://www.thestar.com/News/USElection/article/467800

"The junior Illinois senator stood in the pulpit of a Pentecostal church Sunday to challenge the partisan religious perception by telling some 4,000 worshippers that faith “plays every role” in his life."

"When people work together, there is “nothing that can stop us because that’s God’s intention.” the senator exhorted."

"Obama is currently ranked as the Democratic Candidate that invokes religion the most, according to religious Web site Beliefnet.com’s “God-o-Meter” – which measures “God talk” in the presidential campaign."

http://www.christianpost.com/article/20071...k-tradition.htm

Obama is almost a theocrat by Democratic standards with an 8 out of 10 score. McCain's is a 9 now. Gotta get those Christian voters somehow.

The more God is invoked the least Godliness there is.

Another sign Obama is the AntiChrist. He definitely fits the profile better than McCain.

I'm suspicious of those sort of pulpit proclamations but its obvious why they do it. Given that the religious voter is naturally at home with the Republican party, its perhaps no surprise that the Democrats have to do more pandering to that that demographic.

Are we going to give you, Aficionado, and charles a pass for calling Obama a Muslim, and you, calling him a terrorist, repeatedly?

Yeah, plenty of sensibility coming from your side too -- not.

Yes because clearly the extermination of people is part of Christianity. He also went to church on a regular basis right

I won't hold anything against you considering you are from Maryland after all. lol

What does that have to do with it? Many people are religious on paper - its not uncommon.

Read up on your history....

It is.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
