His point is that, in his infinite wisdom of temporal historical fluxes, Africa nowadays can't seem to produce ultra-rich individuals.

So lets just make him think he's right.

So show who all of these Oprah, Will Smith, Obama's etc equivalents that are coming out of there. Funny how the embassies of most OECD countries are lined up with people from various African nations who are trying to immigrant there. Chicago style politics / fact stating does not work with me.

I wonder how many African Americans have actually traveled to Africa.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I think you're missing the point. Your argument holds no water...it's based on pure speculation. If you want to prove your point you're going to have to do a lot better than an argument that uses the time/space continuum to support your thesis.

I am not missing the point at all.

The anchestors of today's successful African Americans paid dearly, with sweat and blood, for them to have the opportunities and be as lucky as many African Americans now are. That is reality. Without that there would be no Obama or Oprah or Will Smith or even clowns like Jesse Jackson.

It may not work (whatever that may be) but you are surely taking it to the silly level.

I mean, if you don't get it when cause and effect creates the world we live in now, you can't be expected to assume that same reality would be much able to produce all that talent.

Hence your temporal historical flux.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

No it's your entire premise for the argument. :bonk::bonk::bonk: It's a purely speculative theory. It is likely that she might have never had the opportunity to attend Princeton. But it is also much more likely she would not have existed at all...which is why this argument is slippery.

This hurts my head.

Well this is true of virtually all people in the world. However in order to follow through with that rationale you have to make an assumption rationale that everyone has had it just as bad. That's rarely the case when we're talking about individuals - much less when we're talking about an entire social group that was subjected to repressive government policies going back many years.
