She is the religous right's wet dream.

I seriously give up...........

My name is PlatyPius and I agree with this message.

Seriously.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I seriously need to stop using the word seriously ...LOL

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

And what is Obama's experience to qualify him for President? Has he really accomplished something being a senator? Has he authored important legislations that improved the lives of Americans? Give us a list of his achievements in office.

Yes you are right what does qualify Obama? I guess you need a list of great achievements that McCain has:

  • MCCAIN: Bush Led With "Clarity" And Did Not Exaggerate the Case for War.
  • McCain Has Received $1 Million+ From the Health Care and Insurance Industries
  • 2005: McCain Voted to Cut Billions from Medicare and Medicaid.
  • 1999: McCain Voted for a Tax Cut That Benefited Insurance Industry.
  • 1996: McCain Voted for Medical Savings Accounts.
  • 1995: McCain Voted to Drastically Cut Health Care for Children.
  • McCain Criticized Federal Funding For Border Security Earmarks In Arizona.
  • McCain Criticized Federal Funding For Border Patrol And Border Fence Earmarks In Arizona.
  • McCain Voted Opposite 35 Republicans To Force The United States To Consult With Mexico Before Securing The Border.

McCain Flip-Flops on Immigration:

  • MARCH 2007: MCCAIN BACKED AWAY FROM COMPREHENSIVE REFORM AND LEGALIZATION.
  • MAY 2007: MCCAIN WENT BACK TO COMPREHENSIVE REFORM.
  • AUGUST 2007: MCCAIN BACKED CRIMINALIZATION.
  • DECEMBER 2007: MCCAIN WOULD 'DO MOST ANYTHING'.
  • DECEMBER 2007: MCCAIN RACES THROUGH POSITION LIKE ANNOUNCER OF 'PHARMACEUTICAL COMMERCIALS'.

He hasn't authored anything. He's jumped onto a few bills, one of them was later renamed to include his name, but that was later on in the process.

However, his experience is certainly more than, say, Palin's, and his experience is more than George Bush's was. He's not 500 years old and on his death bed, nor does he display alzheimer's forgetting very simple things so often. The experience thing against Obama is garbage. If anything McCain looks worse when he mentions experience because he's so damn old.

And Obama certainly hasn't been as much a warmongering retard like McCain has been, nor has he been pushing to politicize the Supreme Court like McCain has promised doing, in attempt to appease idiots who know nothing about the judiciary and judicial activism, and the Supreme Court had been the most fair and unbiased court in the land, while most of Republican's attacks on judges actually came from formerly Republican-appointed judges.

So in the battle for the worst, McCain has the advantage, because he'd certainly continue the Bush screw-ups, maybe even worse, while Obama might actually not do as bad, but certainly Obama is no champion of civil rights either. Just far less an extremist.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

That's incorrect.

"Obama has sponsored 136 bills since Jan 4, 2005.[2] This figure does not include bills to which Obama contributed very substantially as cosponsor, such as the Coburn-Obama Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 or the Lugar-Obama Cooperative Proliferation Detection, Interdiction Assistance, and Conventional Threat Reduction Act of 2006, which were formally sponsored by Senators Coburn and Lugar, respectively. They also exclude amendments to other bills, although these in the Senate are not required to be germane to the parent bill and can therefore effectively be bills in their own right.[3] Obama has co-sponsored 619 bills during the same time period."

This story is true:

Palin asked Wasilla librarian about censoring books

By Rindi White / Anchorage Daily News

WASILLA -- Back in 1996, when she first became mayor, Sarah Palin asked the city librarian if she would be all right with censoring library books should she be asked to do so.

According to news coverage at the time, the librarian said she would definitely not be all right with it. A few months later, the librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, got a letter from Palin telling her she was going to be fired. The censorship issue was not mentioned as a reason for the firing. The letter just said the new mayor felt Emmons didn't fully support her and had to go.

Emmons had been city librarian for seven years and was well liked. After a wave of public support for her, Palin relented and let Emmons keep her job.

Did you bother actually looking at the bills he authored before giving me that link?

Of the Congress' 109th session, here are the one's he authored, himself, as a leader, which were passed:

- To congratulate the Chicago White Sox on winning the 2005 World Series Championship.

- Recognizing the historical significance of Juneteenth Independence Day and expressing the sense of the Senate that history should be regarded as a means for understanding the past and...

- Designating July 13, 2006, as `National Summer Learning Day'.

Of all of the bills he authored/sponsored himself, this session (110th), 70, the ones (three of them) that even went anywhere and passed are:

- A resolution celebrating the life of Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson.

- A resolution designating July 12, 2007, as "National Summer Learning Day"

- A resolution commemorating the 44th anniversary of the deaths of civil rights workers Andrew Goodman, James Chaney, and Michael Schwerner in Philadelphia, Mississippi, while working in the name of American democracy to register voters and secure civil rights during the summer of 1964, which has become known as "Freedom Summer".

This doesn't include jumping onto other people's legislation or working with others (it doesn't take any actual effort just to latch onto/co-sponsor someone else's bill), but this guy also wants to be a leader, and this is his leadership in the Senate. He has made quite a few bills, as you mentioned, but they go nowhere, and are hung up in committee or not a top priority in the Senate in two sessions (Republican controlled 109th, Democratic controlled 110th).

Had you heard about this one? I have. Long ago.

AILA Lauds the Introduction of the Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007

AILA Lauds the Introduction of the Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007 Washington, DC - The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) lauds the introduction of the Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007 on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. "This bill is significant because it begins the process of knocking down several of the barriers that keep so many legal immigrants from becoming citizens," said Carlina Tapia-Ruano, President of AILA.

The Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007, introduced by Senators Obama (D-IL), Menendez (D-NJ), Salazar (D-CO), and Bingaman (D-NM), and Representatives Gutierrez (D-IL), Honda (D-CA), Abercrombie (D- HI), Grijalva(D-AZ), Schakowsky (D-IL), Solis (D-CA), and Pastor (D-AZ), would authorize U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to request and receive appropriations that would make up the difference between fees charged to applicants and the full resources needed to fund operations and infrastructure.

If enacted, this bill would keep USCIS from raising its already-substantial fees until Congress develops an appropriate framework that would prevent the agency from administering outrageous fee increases - which it has proposed to do. "We appreciate this recognition of the urgency to put up the government's fair share by appropriating funds for this agency to properly do its job," Tapia-Ruano said. "Excessively raising the cost of immigration applications is just not a viable solution to this agency's problems."

AILA supports the provisions of the Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007 that would require fair naturalization fees, fair administration of citizenship testing, voluntary electronic application filing, and timely background checks. "The Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007 is a bill that respects the inherent human dignity of all people--immigrants and the families of immigrants especially--and that is why we are so supportive" Tapia-Ruano concluded. "AILA appreciates this willingness to make a good-faith effort to address the most critical barriers that keep so many people from realizing the American Dream."

Commentary on the bill:

http://www.ilw.com/articles/2007,0403-mehta.shtm

In conclusion, the best way to resolve the problem is for Congress to step in and mandate time limits for background checks. Fortunately, the Citizenship Promotion Act of 2007 (S. 795/H.R. 1379) was introduced in both the House and Senate on March 7, 2007. In addition to preventing fee increases, this bill also proposes to mandate that background checks be completed within a certain time frame, and if the background check is not completed within that time limit, it imposes a requirement on the government to document and account for the reasons for the delay.

The actual bill itself as submitted:
