Personally, I would keep the appointment as is. Not from Houston, but the gov seems to like their schedule.

ya i dont mind just going on that date, but i thought i read about someone going early with no problems. i just figured it would be nice if i could go early she could get her EAD a bit sooner. the EAD is the key for her to get a driver license here in TX. so far the only practice she can get driving is in an empty parking lot.

:star: Yes and we are doing the same here! We found a nice big church parking lot here. Patience is the key.

Not sure how it works in your area, but when I took my husband I inquired about walk in appointments. They gentleman said that they prefer that you keep the appointed date and time, but if they're not busy they'll gladly take your prints.

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Best to be patient...yeah, maybe you can get the biometrics earlier than scheduled, but it won't necessarily speed up getting the EAD

Can't understand this rush to get the biometrics done before the appointment date set by USCIS.

There is no evidence that doing so will in any way speed up the processing of your applications. USCIS is supposed to be working on a FIFO basis (we know that's not quite how it appears to be working, but that is what they say.

If everyone just decided to go when it suited them, USCIS would be in a real mess trying to get biometrics done. If you have a reasonable explanation why you cannot attend your appointment, that is different. If you are just trying to possibly line jump, well .... 'nuff said.

As it is, I waited about 2 1/2 hours in the Seattle office to get mine done and I arrived at the appointment date and time. Now I wonder if some of the people I was waiting with were trying to jump the line or something? But I guess it was probably just poor time management there.

Hi, I'm from Houston also.. I guess you need to call the Immigration Office and ask if they can accomodate your wife. During my Biometrics the office was not really busy so I guess they can accomodate if there is a walkin applicant. I understand that you're in hurry so your wife can get a driver's license..Hope they will grant your request..Have a good day. Hope your wife will not have interview like mine and get her Permanent Card asap..

Lots of people have had success doing a early walkin. Some offices have Wednesday for walkin day. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Friend here did so even without an appointment letter!
