I entered on a K3 visa. Will be applying for AOs soon. Do I have to get my medical done again? Thanks.

a. You are not required to have another medical

examination as long as your Form I-485,

Application to Register Permanent Residence or

Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your

overseas medical examination.

b. You will, however, be required to complete Part

1 of the I-693, Information about you, and submit the

vaccination section of Part 2 with your

adjustment of status application. A designated

civil surgeon must complete the vaccination

section and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's

Certification.

Hi sweety, hope you & hubby are doing well! When I had my medical done in Canada, they never gave me a copy of the I-693 and refused to...they said it was in the medical envelope for USCIS that was handed over at the interview (consulate in Canada) and that a copy for me wasn't required from them. I sent in a copy of my vaccination document & copy of my medical payment (just to prove I had the medical done). Remember, when you read "K1" on the form instructions, that would be the same for K3, just like the I-129F...for fiance's & spouses. Believe me, due to all the reading I've done, I asked about the copy at the doc's office AND at the consulate. The consulate officer specifically told me 3x not to worry about the copy of the I-693 as that would be forwarded to the USCIS office for AOS.

Good luck!!

They could not give you the I-693 because at the foreign medical, they prepare the DS-2053 and DS-3025.

YMMV

SORRY, BUT THAT'S WRONG!

I didn't think that was correct. The only change I'm aware of is the additional required vaccinations. An entirely new medical would not need to be performed.

alright.... let's wait and see then......

check the recent medical RFE as well....

And i know it is wrong in the text point of view (eventho they DID change requirements)...

but it is right in the reality point of view...

SO.....either go for it without it and risk an RFE (and u might get lucky)

or just do it again.

This is my 2 cents.

Q. I had my medical exam completed before the new TB or vaccination requirements went into effect, and have not yet submitted it to USCIS, or I have submitted it but it has not yet been reviewed. Am I now required to have a new medical exam that meets the new TB and/or vaccination requirements before I can adjust status?

Generally, no. When reviewing a Form I-693, USCIS will note the date the exam was conducted and refer to the Technical Instructions, medical requirements, and form edition that were in effect at that particular time, remembering that for each revision of the Technical Instructions there was a 30-day grace period. If the civil surgeon conducted the medical exam properly and in keeping with the exam requirements and form edition in effect on that particular date, there is no need to return for a second exam or to have the results recorded on a newer edition of Form I-693, as long as you submit the Form I-693 before its one-year expiration.

Does it say anywhere what they do if the Dr. uses an old edition of the form I-693? Even though I took the filled in and valid dated forms with me to the exam, the office insisted on using theirs. I didn't notice until a couple of days ago after seeing some others commenting on outdated forms, that the forms the Dr used were out of date at the time I had my exam. And now the one that was valid at that time is no longer available on the USCIS site, so I don't know what to do. I haven't got an RFE for it yet, but I'm now expecting that or one at the interview.

I really don't want to have to deal with having any more vaccinations. I was forced to have the MMR because my titer test showed no immunity to Rubella, and boy did I pay for that! For nearly 2 weeks I had acute arthritis - the stats show about 25% of adult women suffer this side effect. Husband wanted to take me to Dr it was so bad, but I declined. And that 25% is only the reported ones - mine was not reported, wonder how many others aren't?

Anyone experience this issue since the new vaccinations came into effect?
