thank u doxATL. It was kind of a surprise to see my interview date come in 5 months. I was expecting a 10 month wait which would have made me go crazy!!. Just the oath left now. Hopefully it will go through without issues. Good luck to you!.

Anybody knows if I need to be prepared for something for the oath or is it just show up with your GC and the letter?. Thank you

Your green card and the letter. Don't forget to fill in the questions on the letter the day you are going to the ceremony (or the previous day). Don't fill it before just in case you get arrested for any reason between the date of the interview and the date of the ceremony.

My wife attended her Oath Ceremony on February 19th, there were 899 new citizens in attendance and 29 no shows, Congresswoman Doris Matsui was the quest speaker, it was about 3 hours. After the ceremony we went to the USPS and submited her application for her US Passport. She will update her Social Security to US Citizen once we get her certificate back and she will register to vote. We are ready to take a vacation now that the process is as good as over.

3 hours! Hot damn! I hope its not like that in San Clemente.

Got the oath letter today. Oath ceremomy on March 27th, San Jose, California.

Here are my timelines of Citizenship

Received Date - 09/26

Priority Date - 09/26

Notice Date - 10/03

FP Notice - 10/14

FP Date - 10/25

Interview Date - 02/26 (Passed)

Oath - 03/27

can someone please tell me that will it take more time to make the decision for uscis specially in chcago office if i have requested a name change if yes then help me what should i do to withdraw that request of name change cause i wrote in my application to change my last name i have read in other threads that it can take upto three months or more to get the oath letter by theway i have an interview next month

Not really. I had my interview on Jan 12 and my Oath's gonna be in 2 days. I had my name changed too. The timeframe between the interview and oath are pretty normal although there are lucky ones who gets their oath on the same day. See my timeline below.

I'm done! became USC 3.12.09. Took 30 minutes for the ceremony. I traveled 1 hr & a half for this ceremony but it's worth it! Attached to my certificate is the Petition for Name Change which I signed during my interview. I posted my experience. Goodluck to all of you who are still waiting..

I'll update SS first, otherwise you have to wait for your certificate to be mailed back to you. And what if they lose it...

Congratulations!! we're done!! i have not signed my certificate .i looked at my hubby's Nat Cert and he signed on his photo, are we suppose to do that too?? well, i'm gonna update the SSA nxt week then apply for my passport.. right now, i'm chillin'...

I updated my SSN and made an appointment at the post office to apply for the passport end of next week.

DEFINITELY!! I'll sign the right corner of my photo and the signature line on the certificate. Gee, i am practicing my full signature, i'm soo used to my "JDOE" instead of JANEDOE" signature! Did you have to fill-up the SSA form, same form we use to apply one? I wonder how the other Sep filers are doing..Have not heard much of them lately.. B)
