Hi,

I had submitted my application on Sept 23 and got a I-797C notice of action, saying my application was received and under process. It does not mention anything about finger printing or anything else. It just says that you will be notified about the date and place of interview within 90 days.

Is this normal ? How long after this do would i get a finger printing notice ?

Please advice.

Hi Neel,

You will get another notice in the mail advising you of when your FP will be taking place. 90 days is pretty good compared to a lot of places that ae 403 days. Best of luck with your process.

PS Add your timeline and your Service center. It helps other see where you are at or your service center is at.

I went to have finger prints taken today. The office was almost empty, there were definitely less customers than workers. It was out of there in 15 minutes. The lady who took my finger prints told me it has been very slow lately, she said probably people can not afford the fee any more, which is very sad.

Well, I am officially in the waiting period for my interview letter now. Hopefully it will come soon. :)

Got home on friday to find a letter from USCIS waiting for me. It would appear that the FBI rejected my fingerprints and I have been asked to attend again for another set this Thursday at 8 am. They did warn me that there was a possibility this might happen. So, I have been drinking gallons of water and rubbing in lots of handcream all weekend as recommemded. I was going to do some redecorating this weekend but decided that rubbing down paintwork would do my poor fingerends no good at all!

Well according to your timeline their response was pretty fast, so i'm glad you can do your set right next week, you won't have lost too much time!

We received the interview notice today, with an appointment date of early December. It's practically 3 months to the date of the "application priority date" on the NOA-1.

This gives about 7 weeks of advance notice on the interview. We only had 3 days for the biometrics (:

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

..and by the way, the last "touched" date at USCIS is still middle of September - same as what it was when I got NOA 1.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
