LADY WAS SO NICE & SMOOTH BUT IN THE END OF THE INTERVIEW SHE SAID THAT MY VISA ISNT READY YET & GAVE ME BACK MY PASSPORT SAYING THEY WILL CONTACT ME TO SEND IT WHEN THE VISA IS READY.ALMOST 3WEAKS & NOTHING .ANY IDEA IF I SHOULD CALL OR WIAT ? ALSO IS THERE ANYWAY TO CHECK FOR MY VISA THROW INTERNET?ALSO HOW THEY WILL CONTACT ME THROW PHONE OR MAIL OR WHAT EXACTLY?ANY OPENION WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED THANKS ALOT.

Email the embassy and ask for status. You can also call them. They will generally tell you it's in AP, but may give you something more if you call. My husband usually does the calling and I do the emailing. Once in a while they'll give one of us a little something they didn't give the other.

I hope what ever they are doing with your case, it will be done soon. Good luck!

my interview was in 17 aug and same thing happened with CO was so so nice woman she laugh and she made me comfortable and then she give me my passprt back i ask her why ma'am you told me everything is ok and you give me my passprt back if everything is ok u should keep it and give em my visa ... she said that because u non immigration we need do administrative process and she said we will call you after we done this process ..i asked how many day this process will take she answer some ppl two week and some ppl two month ..now more tahn 3 weeeks and nothing happen ...plz pray for us and inshallah all ppl MENA waiting allah help them to be with the ppl they love and happy ramadan

Email the embassy (the email address is on the US Embassy Cairo website) and as others stated...waiting is the name of the game. However, the embassy will reply to emails about your case if you provide them with you case number.

As for how they will contact you when your VISA is ready it is done by DHL. They will send you your packet back that you paid for (if you did that this day) and you will send them your passport with a return DHL)

Just got another response this morning from Cairo. Same ole thing "The case is pending administrative processing. We will contact you once that is completed." I really really hate that line! 2.5 months of this since the interview.
